I broke the original brackets on my step ladder. Thought it would need to be trashed. Installed these easily and gave my ladder a new life. Screws etc included

As long as you don’t try to use both original holes in the ladder on each side, these work well. Easy enough to mount using one original hole, then drill the hole for the other end where it works — allowing the side straps to not stick out when the ladder is folded. These are made differently than the OEM side straps. Drilled two holes. Installed with bolts. Did the job. Would buy again.

Used these to replace badly rusted originals. Much better function now.

See uploaded photos for reference.Likes:1. seems fairly sturdy steel with good paint coverage. These are not aluminum.2. 4 bolts with nylon lock nuts are provided which I couldn't tell before purchasing. So this was a nice surprise even though one would expect mounting hardware.Thoughts for improvement:1. Bolts are about an inch and a half long which are very long to use for any ladder thst I have ever seen. The bolts do protrude a lot but I dont think they will catch a foot while on the ladder. See photo. Of course the bolts can be cut but just raising awarenessOverall, I knew the bracket was a little long(about 1-2 inches), but with some measuring you can make it work. You should not use both of the existing holes in the ladder if the bracket is a different length than the original. You can use one side of the existing holes, and adjust the other side in order for the bracket to open level and collapse correctly without protruding. This bracket should last a long time to extend the life on a very old family ladder.Overall, satisfied. I originally installed the brackets inside out in the photos so note you will need to reverse them so the bracket will be flush. Suggest adding a washer between the bracket and the ladder for better movement. There are no instructions, nor would I expect any, you just need to figure it out. If youre looking for instructions, none are provided.
