Considering hunks of molded plastic can cost over $100 for a lot less craftsmanship, this alligator is a steal.We have the alligator and the praying mantis, and they're made with durable, quality materials with strong stitches and seams.The teeth are caps made of soft rubbery vinyl giving it a bite that feels like teeth but still safe. The tip of the tail has some beanbag material inside to give some weight when it swings. The coloration and ridges on the back show even more attention to detail.I will start buying folkmanis puppets instead of plush toys from now on. They're sure to bring out a child's creativity and imagination

I love alligators, and this one is the most realistic plush alligator I've ever seen! The level of detail is really amazing, and it's a very well-made plush. The puppet part fits my hand and arm with room to spare, but is a bit snug for my boyfriend's hand and arm. I can definitely see a kid having a lot of fun with this puppet, making it bite things and moving the tail and stuff.The main body fabric has a cool scaly texture (not super soft, but still nice to touch), with various shades of greens and browns. The belly fabric is printed with a larger scale pattern and is softer than the upper fabric. My favorite part is the teeth and claws! They're made of some sort of soft plastic or silicone material, and are sewn into the mouth and onto the toes very sturdily. The plush is lightly stuffed, and the tail has a bean pouch in the tip to make it flop better.This alligator puppet is definitely worth the money!

Absolutely lovely and exactly what I was looking for, the claws and teeth are made of a rubbery plastic which makes them look more real and the eyes are beautiful :D the size is great, not too big and not too small. This can double as a stuffed animal and doesn't need to be used as a puppet, the hole is subtle. Seems very sturdy and great quality.

No need to read this review, just buy it.I love this puppet. I have a ventriloquism act and this is the very first puppet that I have found that I can use to open the mouth and manipulate the puppet without pain with my rather large arthritic hands. From a distance, it looks real until you open the mouth at which time the audience can see the pink fabric inside. Up close you can see that the teeth are plastic.I used it this Halloween to scare the children who came to the door. For this presentation, I dressed up as a crocodile Hunter and held the alligator near my waist and let out a deep rumbling noise which appeared to come from the alligator. I pretended to move the alligator side to side and slowly forward as if it were going to attack while keeping the mouth closed and wiggled the tail and feet with my free hand. I made it appear as if I were trying to restrain and hold the alligator from attacking. Showmanship is important. Several children around the ages of 8 to 11 would not even come near me to get candy and ran away after seeing the Folkmanis alligator I was holding. Out of concern, I covered up the alligator when I saw very young children come to the door so as not to scare them. Yes, handled correctly, this alligator can be made to appear very lifelike.Keep up the good work Folkmanis.

A most impressive hand puppet by Folkmanis and is well worth the value. It is nearly 3 feet long and very lifelike for a plush animal puppet. The quality is incredible. It is well worth the price.

The alligator Folksmanis hand puppet was the second Folkmanis puppet I bought for a fundraiser basket raffle for our local humane society. Really unusual prize which drew lots of attention and made lots of money!!! Realistic, quality, personality, life size. It was really hard for me to let it go in the raffle. I will order other Folkmanis puppets in the future. I was very satisfied.
