This might not be the most exciting item to most people, but if you own a Ford EV (or a growing list of other brands) it's a game changer. Earlier this year, Ford announced that it would be moving to the J3400 interface from CCS1. That means that Ford owners can now use the Tesla Supercharger network. Or they *will* be able to once the proper plug begins to be integrated into new cars. So what if you have a Ford EV with a CCS1 plug? Simple--get this adapter and you're all set. There are *some* limitations--they have to be the newer 250 kw Tesla Superchargers but the older chargers (limited to 150 kw) don't show up as part of the 'BlueOval' charge network. Works great with my Mustang Mach-E! Assuming you have a supported vehicle, this is a must have. Right now this includes Ford, GM, Mercedes, Rivian and Volvo. Highly recommended!

This NACS to CCS charger adapter is a game-changing solution for CCS1-compatible EV owners, granting access to Tesla's extensive Supercharger network. With a robust power capacity of 1000V, 500A, and up to 250kW, this adapter ensures rapid charging, making it an excellent choice for long trips or areas where non-Tesla fast chargers are scarce. Its durable construction and simple plug-and-play functionality enhance usability, offering a hassle-free charging experience. However, its premium price point may deter casual EV users or those with minimal reliance on fast charging. On the positive side, the adapter delivers unparalleled convenience by bridging the gap between the NACS and CCS1 charging standards, unlocking one of the largest and most reliable charging networks for non-Tesla EVs. The high-speed charging capability further minimizes downtime during road trips, a significant advantage for frequent travelers. However, its performance is contingent on the EV’s compatibility and the Supercharger station’s output, which may not always deliver the maximum promised speed. Buyers should carefully verify compatibility to avoid potential issues with certain EV models. While its compact, portable design and sturdy build make it a durable and practical choice for everyday use, the adapter’s cost may feel steep for those who rarely need Tesla network access. Additionally, as with any adapter, charging speeds may not always meet expectations due to variables like the vehicle’s charging acceptance rate. Despite these cons, this adapter is a valuable investment for CCS1 EV owners who prioritize charging flexibility and speed, making it a strong contender in the EV accessories market.

I misplaced my previous charger adapter that I keep in my car with me so I knew I had to get this one to replace it! After taking some time to go over everything that this is compatible with I determine that my car was in fact compatible with it. I would definitely recommend taking some time to do the same. As long as you do that this is a perfect fit and will slide right over the other charger and plug in flawlessly. It's all a perfect fit and definitely functions as intended. I got to try this out at one of the gas stations we went to this past weekend on the trip to my mom's they only have the other type of charger there but luckily I had this so I was able to easily plug that in and plug it into my car. Super user friendly and really cannot be any easier to use. If you have used any charger before for an EV you can use this! This has a super sturdy and very heavy duty build quality. Super easy to remove and super easy to put on. Very well made and it's definitely as nice as the previous one I had which was name brand. Definitely a great value for your money and a solid 10 out of 10! Great bang for your buck

Most of the adapters I've seen have been molded plastic. This one takes the build quality up a notch with molded plastic covered in an aluminum case. The unit comes with a short instruction manual and a nice carrying case.Importantly, you can't just buy this and think you can go hook up to a Tesla Supercharger with your EV. Hopefully. your EV maker has already made a deal with Tesla to allow you to use their charging system and your EV maker has already tested their cars on the system and had no problems. You'll have to install an app on your phone and set up a pay system with Tesla to use their chargers. If you just go plug in expecting to be able to get some power...you'll be unhappy with this unit..but it's not the unit's fault. All this adapter does is allow your J1772 car to get power from the Tesla Superchargers that seem to be in every supermarket parking lot around, but the app "talks" to the Supercharger and that makes the power flow. It seems easy enough but a friend with a Hyundai Ionique 6 has now tried 3 adapters on her car and even with the software could not get the power to flow. I'm going to test this on my Bolt and if it works, will try it also on her car...should work for both.I'm not sure why these adapters are so expensive as they are not complicated to design or build. This one, with recent price drop is still around $200, which is way more than it should be. In a year or two these will be $25-35 items. Unless you need to have one, I'd suggest waiting until they become more reasonable. Will add to this review after testing on both cars.
