This is an interesting addition to my dremel for doing dog toenails. The photo shows it in relation to the standard sanding drum I normally use. My puppy has black toenails, which makes cutting them hard (you can't see the quick and cutting into one will make her run away and that's the end of that. In fact, we can't use a cutter on her). With a sanding drum I would sand down one side of the nail and move around until I can see signs of getting close to the quick. I use a coarse sanding drum. This new gizmo is slightly longer, but key attributes: it's rounded; there are two sanding edges along the length of the shank, and one on the tip; it's finer. That finer grit is what's the main difference, it doesn't sand as quickly as I am used to, hence, it also heats up the toenail more as I spend more time than I am used to. The curved nature of it is also going to get some used to. I'm used to working one side then another. With the concave curve it attacks the whole nail, and I accidentally got too close to the quick on a few tries.THe only reason for 4 stars is the fine grit. I'd prefer a coarser one that is a little more aggressive so I'm not spending too much time one each nail. And I wonder how long the fine grit will hold up. Maybe I'll update this in a few months to see how well it lasts. But for now, I'll keep using this and only go back to my standing sanding drum if it wears out.

Trimming my dog's nails is always a Herculean feat - she's a little ~70lb ball of muscle with no shortage of energy, and she hates having it done. I was happy to find this diamond-coated nail trimming tool for a reasonable price. It fits perfectly in my Dremel nail trimmer. I had traditionally used sandpaper tools that heated up and wore out quickly. They're also flat, which causes you to need to rotate the tool to get a nicely-rounded trim. This grinding bit is nicely contoured to conform to the curve of your dog's nail, making trimming quicker. It has a cup at the top to help round out the tip of the nail. It also doesn't seem to heat up nearly as much as the sandpaper bits. I didn't notice any buildup on the diamond bit, which usually happens with sandpaper bits. It also didn't appear to wear down at all after one use on all four of her paws. It cut the nail down at least as easily as the sandpaper bits, maybe even a little quicker. The best part was my dog stopped struggling after a couple minutes, probably because the bit didn't heat up and cause her discomfort. Overall, I'm very satisfied with this nail trimming bit, especially for the price. I'd recommend this to anyone who uses a rotary tool to trim their dog's nails!

Have this bit attached to a battery-powered Dremel tool and use it to grind my dogs nails. His nails fit nicely into either of the grooved sections of the bit. Seems to do the job quickly and cleanly, and without any fuss from my dog.Time will tell, but I suspect this will last A LOT longer than a generic sander/grinder-type of bit. Recommended!

This Oxcearly brand Diamond Dog Nail Grinder Attachment wouldn't at first fit into the Dremel Chuck because the shaft was coated with manufacturing residue. Cleaning it was like removing glue. After that chore the grinder worked fine on my small dog. Much better than the jagged results you get with clippers.

I've wanted a diamond nail bit for my dog for a while. I use an oster nail grinder to round off my dog's nails after I do the initial trim (but honestly a battery powered rotary tool is the exact same thing and it's more portable so don't shill for a dedicated nail grinder; it's the same thing just marked up) since he likes to use his paws like hands and will literally grab your arm when he wants your attention, and those nails HURT when they're not filed smooth. So when I saw this one, I immediately jumped at the opportunity to try it out.It doesn't have the same length of shaft as the bit that came with the oster, but it really doesn't matter, it secures just the same and works genuinely pretty dang well, and is perfectly fine for a typical rotary tool, which, again, I recommend. This is a solid product and is absolutely worth the money, especially when similar bits are selling for over $100.

This Dremel attachment is great for quickly grinding dog nails! It makes for well-rounded nails, perfect for polishing off the sharp edges of their nails after a trim. A potentially helpful note would be that we have an older Dremel (100 series) so we had to go buy a separate part (a newer collet nut, to be precise) in order to be able to attach the new bit. But this should not be an issue for newer models.Overall, great product and exactly as described!
