Took some time and patience but I did get this to work for my daughters ipad. So far it has worked for us but it did take a look of effort and patient to install. I do not know if I would do this again.

There were no included directions, but this was my 5th time replacing the screen for my rambunctious son’s iPad. Compared with other kits, the tools included in this kit are superior. The metal pry tool and precision screwdriver are ones I’ll keep around for future projects.The hardest part about the install was removing the blue backing tape on the screen adhesive strips. Absolute pain to get started. Other than that it fit and went into place nicely.Upon applying the included screen protector, I noticed some bubbles and debris. Upon removal, I realized it wasn’t debris but 2 bubbles in the glass itself near the middle of the display. Completely useless piece with a lack of quality control.Unfortunately this being the 6th time I’ve opened the iPad, the cable to the screen digitizer tore. That means the screen no longer lights up and I’m guessing wouldn’t detect touch. Dead zombie iPad that couldn’t sustain yet another revival procedure.

I knew touch id wouldn’t work with the replacement I’m ok with that. I have 6 kids with iPads I replace screens monthly it feels like. This screen was great, great quality picture wize but the home button does not work what so ever thank god iPads have other ways to get around the home button not working now if I have to fix the home button I’m at risk of breaking the screen to do so. Super sad but it’s ok it’s always a hit or miss with these cheap screens.

I ordered this to replace the digitizer on my Apple a1497. It comes with all tools necessary for the installable and includes a tempered glass screen protector to apply after installation. It looks and feels like a quality replacement with everything included, I feel it will be a straight forward installation.
