This is a necessity if you have any inclination of taking your motor off the boat, even if it is just for the off season. Make sure you get a lock...It makes the removal easy for you, and for potential thieves.

This quick release trolling motor device is very useful, so that I can remove the trolling motor from the boat when ever I park it at the boat ramp overnight or take it in for repairs!!

If you didn't buy one when you bought your trolling motor, get it. I never thought I'd have to take off my trolling motor, you will ! and its a pain if you don't have a quick release plate. love it.

The product is exactly what is claims to be, and it work as intended and as expected.However, as is to be expected, you application may require some custom fitting, especially when used with one of the power drive or terrova motors. These motors require that the motor over hang the edge of the boat by a significant amount, and can require you to get creative in your mounting. I had to put two additional holes in the boat base to allow for this overhang.

Looked like the OEM version but once installed I realized why it was called a "type". The lock bar is very tight and somewhat difficult to slide into the puck, actually had to drill the puck holes out slightly for easier operation.
