The quality of this magnetic bracket is second to none. The machined metal bracket fits like a glove, and the base plate is attractive and extremely strong. Well designed latching device uses set screws to lock the dish - this is not only a theft deterrent, but securing it against the wind blowing it off. It includes a long allen wrench tool for removing the lock screws. I have been running them in by hand, that has been enough. I haven't needed to lock them in with the wrench. The four magnets will hold the dish securely, even when driving down the road. I was a little concerned about that - until I stuck to the truck. It is secure. I also appreciate that this mount is tucks tightly under the dish - so the footprint needed is the same size as the dish. A lot of these mounts out there are way bigger than they need to be.This is my go to mount for the starlink mini - and I have several.

I've tried other magnet mounts and this is my favorite. No plastic here. I like that the bracket is aluminum and includes screws to lock it to the starlink dish. Magnets are rubber coated and won't scratch your vehicle as long as you keep them clean.

I've researched several magnetic rooftop SLM mounts for our RV and in many cases moved on. Many designs appeared too complicated, overdone, oversized, or otherwise not the diminutive yet secure form factor I wanted.I finally found one I wanted to review and hoped it was worth the time. It was!Materials - NO PLASTICS! Period! The mount does appear to be a die cast aluminum, as advertised. The plate, where the magnets and aforementioned mount are attached, is machined aluminum, not cast.Starlink Mount/Interface - The mount snaps into place securely to the Starlink dish and once the security screws are tightened, cannot be disengaged without damaging the dish. Of note, the machine screws are not "anti-theft" as advertised, unless the potential thief does not own a 3mm hex wrench. Besides, anyone intending to steal the dish will simply remove the entire assembly; it is after all only held in place magnetically. A secondary method of securely tethering the assembly would be required where access is easy. Being placed on the roof of an RV like ours mitigates the potential for theft because would-be thieves would not know it was there.Magnets - These are very strong. I purposefully placed it on a car with an appreciable amount of morning dew on the roof. Even so, considerable effort was required to remove the assembly. I mistakenly attached this to a gun safe to further test their strength. I do NOT recommend doing so. I had to use a pry bar to remove the mount due to the thickness of the metal safe. Given that the roof of a vehicle is a low-pressure area under highway speeds, I cannot imagine ever having a dismount issue. The magnets are encased within a rubber-like material. Only time will tell if they hold up under extended exposure to the sun. Considering, in our case, the assembly will be installed only during our RV excursions, I don't anticipate that being a problem.Form Factor - I really like this small form factor. It is as large as it needs to be, and not a millimeter more, likely because of the quality materials that are used.Assembly - This was crazy-easy to assemble. Simply screw on the magnets. Noteworthy, but not worth removing a star, was the 14mm bolts attaching the mount to the plate were not completely tightened. I was able to unscrew the bolt, with the red arrow pointing to it, by hand. I recommend adding some blue Loctite before tightening.Summary:I've been looking for a magnetic SL-Mini mount for our RV but haven't found anything of interest until now.Do I recommend it? Absolutely!Would I buy this as a gift? Indeed!Would I buy this for myself? Yes! I only conduct Vine reviews of items I would purchase for my own use.Would I return it? No way!
