If you are looking for a quality cymbal, this is not it (the price should tell you that). It does not sound like a splash, but it does have a cool, almost gong-like sound to it. I needed a hi hat set for a small teaching space without spending much money. I got two of these to put on my hi hat stand (with a little modification to account for the small size). They do the job for a situation where sound needs to be quiet (we don't play on it open; only closed or slapping together with the pedal). Very pleased with it.

Like most inexpensive cymbals, this one sounds very thick like a gong. But I’ve learned that with a little alteration, like drilling some holes in it, and stacking it on another one, it can get a really great sound.

You get what you pay for on this one. We ordered these at the last minute to attach to our schools marching shares for a few parades. The sound is terrible - not a splash sound. They’ll get beaten up on our end, so cheap is good. However, if I cared about the sound, I’d be upset.

I just like stacking cymbals on cymbals, bashing cymbals with a hammer, drilling into cymbals.Kinda for beginners I guess, if you need it cheap or have a smaller kid's set. Doesn't really sound like a splash, its twangy and a little too resonant. But really good for me because I'm starting to get into mods and I dont want to mess up any good cymbals.I actually found some similar ones on Wish for only 9 bucks, but of course this arrived in only 2 days and the other ones will take another month at least. This cymbal is an incredible value - heck, the mounting hardware will probably cost more than the cymbal!I'm using it with a folding "Traps" 5-piece set, with 1" hats, 18 and 16" crash, 20" ride and two splash cymbals - this and an inexpensive 10" Agazarian. I've ben playing drums on and off for 40 years - I was a giging guitarist/bassist, though, and drums was just a home and rehearsal space "activity". I actually play more now than I ever have - my previous sets were loaned to me by friends; 5-piece Slingerland and Rogers sets with hand-made Zildjians - so I was a bit spoiled. However, I wanted a set I could play any time of day and not bother the neighbors, and this set fits the bill perfectly.Except for the splash cymbals - the10" in the center between crash cymbals, and the 8" Foreaniam on a 4" extension tree above the 16" crash (on the right) are all Zildjian low-volume cymbals. The Traps brand set is a thin-shell, low-volume small club or home set with outstanding sound, so the low volume cymbals mix well with them. And the 8" Foreaniam is actually just a bit louder than the low volume crash cymbals - as is the 10". They really add excellent dynamics and different accents to the sound. The 8" splash would work great with a rock or country setup if you don't play John Bonham "beat the drums to death" style. It is not as loud as higher-end Zildjian or Paiste splash cymbals (that run $90-250!), but I loaned it out to a friend who plays medium-sized clubs unmiked on a Slingerland set, and it worked so well for him HE ordered one.Seriously, you just can't pass up on this cymbal for the price. It's a permanent part of my set (I'm disabled by chronic pain and stuck at home most of the time) But working drummers could make it permanent or swith it out wwith a high-end splash for iunique cvariations in tone.Last - it IS pretty thin and may not last long. But at the price, if it breaks I'll just order another one! In fact, I may order a backup antway!VERY highly recommended.

It honestly sounds like hitting tin. I don’t care how low cost it is. Not worth it because the sound was awful.

Sounds more like a triangle than a spash cymbal. If that's what you're looking for, then it's worth the money. Ting! Ting!

I bought this to replace a broken cymbal on my children's child-size drum set. This fit perfectly and has held up to full-strength pounding by my kids.
