Why is are PVC fitting sockets bigger than their named size?
PVC sizes get their name from the inner diameter of the PVC pipe as they are nominal, or 'in name only'. If you add the thickness of the wall on each side of the pipe, the outside diameter of the PVC pipe will always be larger that the actual PVC size.
What will this table cap fit?
Important PVC Size Information
This fitting will connect standard 1" Size Schedule 40 plumbing-grade or Furniture Grade PVC pipe, which has an outside diameter of 1.315" or 1-5/16".
- Can be permanently connected with clear PVC cement.
- Pipe inserts internally, inside of the table cap
- Fits standard 1" Schedule 40 PVC pipe.
- Not compatible with CTS or CPVC style pipe, EMT conduit or wood dowels.
How to Use PVC Table Caps
Where to use PVC Table Caps
Table Caps are used when you need a PVC Pipe segment to connect to flat, perpendicular materials, such as wood, concrete or drywall (use proper anchors for each specific materials).
Mount the Table Cap
Connect the Table Cap to the flat surface by using three (3) #10 screws or fasteners. The lengths of the screws depends upon the material you are connecting to. Be sure to use the proper anchors for the specific material you are mounting to.
Secure the PVC Pipe
Insert the PVC pipe into the Table Cap and make sure it is fully seated. For a permanent connection, it is highly recommended that clear PVC cement be used to secure the pipe and Table Cap together.

I used this product and a couple other Formufit fittings to create a railing system for my deck out of 1” steel conduit. These table caps were easy to install and were a whole lot cheaper than other flanges I was able to locate. They also create a nice accent at each end of conduit section. Very pleased with all Formufit products.

These are kind of expensive but I used them for a diy pvc pipe shelf & a mud room coat hanger thingy but I actually prefer the metal hangers in the second picture with the white basket hanging from it. They were $1 each from dollar tree and make a perfect kids coat hanger

The price is very reasonable and they seem to be made well. I used these in conjunction with 1" PVC pipes cut to size as a shelf support (middle) for an interior closet. Highly recommend them.

Great for many things, especially simple legs on anything. They are sturdy, easy to use, and save a lot of time and labor in attaching temporary legs. Could be permanent legs on outdoor tables, side tables, or for filling in the foot well space if your dog falls in there in the back seat.

I looked forever for something like this because I'd envisioned a riser for my computer workstation that would lift my Genelec speakers above my video monitors. Viola! Seven of these, a stick of PVC, some spray paint and a few power tools later, I have a good-looking, stable, awesome workstation riser for under $50. You can really be creative with these things for next to no money -- highly recommended for anyone who thinks "I'd love to build something -- if there was only an affordable building material besides two by fours." Finally -- there is.
