It's a good lens adapter for Canon FD lens to Fuji X mount cameras. Built solid with metal build. Didn't have any issues using it. Not very expensive and design is simple. No surprises here and works as it should.

I purchased a Fotsay Minolta MD, Canon FD, and Nikon F mount to Fuji X-Mount adapter for use on my Fujifilm X-T20 and my opinion is the same on all three, so I am using the same review for all three. These Fotsay adapters work just as well as the higher priced adapters. Sure, they may lack some fancy anodized trim, and rely on textured metal grips instead of a rubber grip, but in terms of adaptability, I've had no issues. Each of these adapters mounts correctly to my X-T20 and each classic lens I've used and I've had no issues. The lenses and the adapter are neither too tight to get stuck, or too loose to fall off or cause light leaks. Since none of these have any optical elements in them, there is no degradation in image quality, and they all focus to infinity correctly.Of course, you need to set the camera to work with no lens (I forget the setting in the camera, but its in the manual) and you need to set the camera to Manual focus, but I find the focus peaking feature of the X-T20 to work really well with these adapters and manual focus lenses. In a nutshell, you can spend more (sometimes a lot more) on other brands adapters, and get a nicer looking one that maybe has a nicer grip, or save yourself some money and just get these. If I had one suggestion, its that I wish there was a Helicoid version of these three mounts. I have the Fotsay M42 -> Fuji X-mount Helicoid adapter and it works really well. I wish they had versions of these with that feature.

One of the nice advantages of mirrorless cameras with their short flange distances is that it's very easy to adapt older (and cheap!) lenses without having to put glass converters. So, you can use your old lenses without any noticeable degradation in quality. The adapter fits snugly but not too tightly, both on the Fuji side and on the Canon FD or FL side (works for both, since it's the same mount). It's cheap, but there's nothing wrong with build quality, and since there are no optical elements, there won't be any new distortions. Depending on tolerances, you might have issues focusing at infinity, but I don't have a problem with my copy.So far, I've tested it with the Canon FL 50/1.4, Vivitar 28mm/2.8 and Canon FL135/2.5. Works flawlessly both with the lenses by themselves and with extension tubes for macro.I've uploaded some quick shots of Mr. Claus with the Canon 50 and Vivitar 28 (taken from the same position, so the wider shot is the vivitar), and a macro shot of the Fuji XF18-55, using the Vivitar 28 and a 18mm Extension tube. For the macro I stopped down to f22 so there's some depth of field at all. Any softness is caused by the lens itself. In all cases, focus was on the eye, using focus peaking and viewfinder magnification. Some comments:The Aperture Lock/Open ring is a bit confusing at first, since "open" is up top when it's stopped down, and "locked" is up when it's open. There are arrows showing the direction you have to twist, but it's not intuitive. It would have cost absolutely nothing to make it so both the arrows and the legend up top are consistent. If you have a lens that allows you to manually stop down (like the Canon FL 50/1.4), then you might be better served using that ring instead of the adapter.Fuji's Manual Focus assists work perfectly with all lenses, but you do have to move the AF lever to Manual. You have to be sure the adapter is "open" when you change lenses, otherwise you won't be able to stop down your lens. This isn't a problem specific to the adapter, and has all to do with the mechanical linkage the FD system uses to control aperture. On Canon Cameras there was no problem because it always defaulted to open when you weren't shooting.

This X-mount adapter is surprisingly good compared to previous M4/3 adapters I have bought. The infinity focus point is pretty accurate. Other adapters have focused "past infinity." The aperture stop-down ring feels more robust. Perhaps a little too robust. Getting it off the open click stop is a little tight but should loosen up with use. I wouldn't call the X-side mount loose. It definitely is snug against the flange. But it wiggles rotationally between the camera lock stops by about 1/32 of an inch when you turn that slightly tight aperture stop down ring back and forth. There is no wiggle agains the flange so it does not disturb focus. If it were a little more snug, or if the aperture stop down ring weren't quite as tight, I wouldn't have noticed it. On the Canon side, I am using the old breech-lock FL or FD lenses which are self-tightening. I wouldn't know how the later FD bayonet mounts would be. The X side appears to be black-anodized aluminum while the Canon side appears to be chrome plated, hopefully brass. The "Lock-Open" marking on the moving aperture stop down ring is kind of misdesigned. You can't glance at it and know intuitively if the aperture is open or closed. It is hard to explain, but they would have been better off putting an arrow mark on the rotating ring and put the Lock and Open labels on the stationary part.

I have one of these for my Fuji X-Pro1 camera and it works just fine. Haven't had any problems with it. Seems sturdy, comes on and off easily. Nice metal rings instead of some cheap plastic of some kind.I've used it with a Canon FD 50mm and photos turn out excellent. You will have to focus manually and set the aperture manually. Also, you will have to allow the camera to shoot without lens in the menu, and depending on the lens you might want to adjust the zoom level of the OVF. However, you will prob want to use the EVF or back LCD screen instead of OVF anyway. This is a great add-on to have until Fuji or other companies make a compatible lens in the focal length you're looking for. This should also work the same on a Fuji EX-1 if you are on that camera instead.
