Description:
A Neutral Density Filter or ND filter is a filter that reduces or modifies the intensity of all wavelengths or colors of light equally, giving no changes in hue of color rendition. It can be a colorless (clear) or grey filter. The purpose of a standard photographic neutral density filter is to reduce the amount of light entering the lens. Doing so allows the photographer to select combinations of aperture, exposure time and sensor sensitivity which would otherwise produce overexposed pictures. This is done to achieve effects such as a shallower depth of field and/or motion blur of a subject in a wider range of situations and atmospheric conditions.
This FOTGA Nano ND filter is compatible with all brands of matte boxes and filter trays that fit the 4 x 5.65inch standard, such as Fotga DP500III DP3000 Matte box, Mini Lightweight Matte Box, JTZ DP30 Matte box.

I would give this product 2.5/5 stars, because this filter has about half the diffusion strength that is advertised and stated. In my images you'll see a side by side comparison between the Fotga 1/2 black mist filter, and two 1/4 (1/2 total) Neewer black mist filters stacked directly on top of eachother. The blacks of the images (black shutters) do a good job of showing the difference in strength and quality between the two products. The two Neewer filters stacked produces a much softer and "dreamy" looking image. The Fotga filter is 'maybe' comparable to the strength of a single Neewer 1/4 filter, hence the 2.5 / 5 star review. Both images were taken with the same camera / lens, the same exact settings, both are SOOC jpegs, and both images were taken within seconds of eachother. Overall, I'm disappointed in the quality of this product considering the price, and I do not recommend buying it. If you're trying to achieve the "dreamy look" that better quality black mist filters give, then this product isn't what you want to buy. I hope this helps.

From the moment I attached this diffusion filter to my camera and started shooting, I was blown away by the dreamy, misty effect it created. The overall contrast is lowered, giving a more cinematic look. Everything took on a smoother, softer look with the most sublime haze over the image. The glass fits perfectly into my smallrig matte box mini filter tray.For any filmmaker or photographer wanting to get a pro mist look on a budget, this FOTGA diffusion filter is an absolute must-have.

Nothing here not to like. Good quality glass, accurate light reduction properties, and no noticeable color shift or undesirable optical artifacts.The glass is thick, well-marked for ease of use, with nicely finished rounded edges. It drops perfectly into the filter trays on each of my matte boxes, and does the job it should at approximately 1/2 the cost of the next cheapest option available on the market currently.I liked this one so much I purchased the other strengths as well, so I have a complete set of ND filters for use in my matte boxes. Highly recommended as an excellent product and value.

This isn't bad at all. I know that there's always concerns when smaller companies make something in a market that's already dominated by more reputable brands, but this is worth it's weight and price. I like that it's for matte boxes and in the 4x5.56 filter size because it's easier to adapt, use, and even rent out or sell. The quality is awesome. Well built, comes in a nice protective case, and it gives your images a nice soft look. Stacked with other filters, I haven't seen anything like ghosting especially with lens flares so that's a huge plus. It looks great and I plan on keeping and using this for years to come.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this filter worked. Most people would never be able to tell this wasn’t a pro mist filter.Excellent product and price.
