The fiberglass rods are strong and gives ample tension to make a beautiful parabolic shape to offer an even and soft light. Fotodiox Umbrellas are designed to be used with any tungsten or flash light source, umbrellas will soften, amplify, and ease the light output to subject. Umbrellas with a white interior will soften and wane light more than an umbrella with a silver lining. This umbrella is made of diffusive nylon fabric and easy to use in tight spaces. It has minimum light reduction. Tip: Umbrella size is usually chosen by the size of the subject and the strength of light supply being used. Choosing an umbrella surface is as significant as selecting a paint and brush. Suggested use: Larger Groups and Full Length Portraits.

This is a very high quality umbrella. Sturdy construction, and the locking mechanism is ingenious. Instead of cutting the pole to put in a stopper, this umbrella has a big round sturdy ring to grab the lock mechanism. Unfortunately, after a couple of shoots, the locking mechanism would not hold. My assistant would be moving the umbrella around and it would close unexpectedly. I also had it on a lightstand and it would collapse.

I received a different item and had troubles returning it. Also did not include all the parts that were advertised
