A little cumbersome but work well for getting lures snagged on rocks and stumps. What can I say, they also work well getting lures out of the trees. Have definitely saved me a lot of money and I have recovered a lot of lures that other anglers have left behind because they couldn’t reach them.

I have used this several times already to get lures out of trees / bushes along the shore and under the water (only goes out to 15 feet) and it has probably already saved me more than the cost. The picture and descriptions in the listing are pretty bad but this is basically a telescoping pole with a coil on the end, put the rising line from pole to stuck lure in the coil, and run it to the lure, knock it loose and try really hard not to get it stuck again.

I cannot say enough good things about this product. I fish exclusively with a deep diving crank bait that cost around 7 to 8 dollars each. I have retrieved this lure well over 30 times in the nine months that I have owned this product. If I go on the low end and take that 30 times that I saved the lure and multiply that times the seven dollars that the lure costs that comes out to be over $200.So if I subtract the $50 that I paid for this product that means I have saved $150 that I would’ve had to spend to buy replacement lures, and I’m sure that I will be using it quite a bit more.I was telling my fishing buddy that I feel so strongly about this product that I would feel very confident about being a sales rep for this company. lolIt’s a no-brainer that every fisherman should own one of these well-built devices.

I used a friends before I bought this. In one weekend muskie fishing this lure retriever saved both of us many times its cost in saved baits!! If you fish muskie or anywhere where you are casting near trees and wood then it is a must have - don't leave the dock without one! Great investment!

I had a similar lure retriever for several years that finally bit the dust, the retrieve end actually broke off when caught on the bottom. This particular retriever is super heavy duty and should work fine for many more years. I like the fact that you can extend only one of the two extendable sections and tighten it for shorter use. My old retriever needed to be fully extended to the max length even for a shorter retrieve. It's a little long, approx. 5', but does just fit inside my rod locker.
