Master Tumbler Kit

The Frankford Arsenal Case Tumbler provides a quick, easy and economical means to clean your brass. Used in conjunction with the Frankford Arsenal walnut and corn cob media, the Quick-N-EZ Tumbler removes lube and oxidation quickly and conveniently. It will hold up to 600 9mm or 350 .223 cases. The Kit includes Quick-N-EZ Case Tumbler, Quick-N-EZ Rotary Media Separator, 4 oz Brass polish, 3 lb Cleaning Media and a Plastic Bucket.

Fill the cleaning bowl about 2/3 full of cleaning or polishing media. Set the tumbler on a flat concrete surface and plug it in. Add any amount of brass you desire, up to maximum capacity.

Tumble your brass until it is clean. If you are merely cleaning your brass, 30 minutes to an hour will normally remove all dirt and grease. If you want to polish the tarnish or powder stain from brass, you will need to use treated media or add ammonia-free brass polish to untreated media and then tumble for several hours. Just check the brass periodically for progress.

Tips:

1. Clean your brass before polishing with “untreated” ground walnut shells. This simply removes the dirt, grit, or bullet lube from the cases so they can be inspected.

2. Resize and de-prime your brass before polishing.

3. The media you use to clean and polish your cases will not wear out, but it will become “loaded up” with bullet lube, polish, powder residue, and dirt.

4. If you reload for a variety of different guns, you may need to obtain a few extra buckets in which to keep your different cleaning and polishing medias while they are not in use. Shooting conditions can also dirty your brass more than normal. We recommend keeping three buckets on hand to contain media in different stages of use: #1 for untreated “cleaning media;” #2 for new, barely used treated “polishing” media; and #3 for well-used, “loaded-up” media.

5. If you use your tumbler to Moly-coat bullets, we recommend using a separate bowl from the one you use to tumble brass.

Looks strong but ships with US spec - wrong plug and wrong voltage for UK. 120v/60hz. So needs a substantial adapter / converter to use. I

This tumbler kit works well, I added the treated Walnut Shell to the process to " finish " the cleaning. After a few trials I find that using the untreated material that came with the kit for about an hour and then changing to the treated Walnut I get very bright clean brass that is free of all burnt powder marks. The pail and hand tumbler / screen works great in cleaning the crushed shell material out of the brass - however this step does release fine dust into the air so this step is best done outside. This system makes the cleaning process easy and consistent. The tumbler is quiet and doesn't walk around.

This kit is awesome. Everything you need to start cleaning and polishing Brass, right out of the box. I cleaned approximately 900 cartridges of 9mm and 300 cartridges of .45 in one day in multiple sessions. The tumbler was running pretty much constantly the entire time. We'll built and easy to assemble. Pleasant citrus smell to the brass polish that it comes with. The media separator and supplied bucket is great aswell. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a great priced, complete brass cleaning and polishing kit. A+++++++

I know the price may be a warn-off for some people, how can something so reasonably priced be worthwhile, right? Well I'll be among the first to say this kit is the real deal. I wasn't expecting much for the price I was paying, but I was pleasantly surprised to say the least. The tumbler works very well, I have tumbled both empty cases and loaded rounds. Both came out like you would expect them to. I like the clear lid so I can check the brass while it's working. I'm still using the corncob media that came with the kit, once I wear it out I'll switch to walnut lizard bedding that you can buy at most pet stores far cheaper than buying "walnut polishing media". The media is holding up really well, but I clean my brass in an ultrasonic cleaner first. Takes the time I need to tumble down to an hour or two.I love the separator, it's great at getting the media out of the cases and hollow point bullets. The bucket catches the media and makes the whole operation quick and clean.UPDATE: Everyone speaks to how quiet this machine is. As I have no experience with any other tumbler I'll have to take their word for it. I have found a way to further dampen the sound of it, I took a length of 1/2" clear vinyl tubing and placed it over the threaded metal rod that comes up through the middle of the tumbler tub. I used 1/2" because there is a square nut at the bottom of the rod. I heated the tube so it was pliable and forced it over the nut and let it cool while holding it in place. Now when I use the tumbler it is quieter because the brass doesn't vibrate against the rod.

Works as advertised, not sure I would use 600 rounds of 9 in it, but I did overload it with 45 and let it run for 4 hours, the shells came out looking brand new. I remove the primer, wash them in a special recipe of my own making, then run them thru this thing. When I don't overload it, I run it for 1 hour and the come out super clean.I use the corn cob that came with it even tho I have 20 lbs of the crushed walnut stuff waiting to mix in. The corn works great, no complaints except you don't get a lot of it in the kit but its cheaper than dirt...The bucket and gizmo that is used to separate the brass from the corn cob once its done is a little flimsy and wobbles when you spin it but keep in mind the whole point is not to spin it too fast, which would actually prevent the brass from clearing all the cob mix, you rotate slowly back and forth and it works.I had a problem with static cling. The first batch, the corn cob stuck to the brass and the bucket itself with the brass basket became very much charged, so I put in a dryer sheet and it seemed to work, the next batch I ran thru the tumbler I added cut up pieces of dryer sheets and it seemed to help a little. Put a sheet in the separator and its all good, AFTER you run it around a few good spins and the brass is mostly separated, then add the sheet into the separator.

As others have already said, the tumbler is the key to this setup. Assembly is a breeze and it works great. Sitting five feet away, the noise is completely tolerable. After a short while, the buzz/hum becomes nearly soothing. :)Brass comes out clean and fairly shiny with just the provided corn husk media. For a deep clean or super shine, there are many other tumbler media and additives that will work with the Frankford kit.Again, I agree with other posters that the separator is the weakest link. The bucket is fine and I'm sure it will last as long as any other bucket. I haven't experienced the weakness issues that others have written about, but then I only clean a couple hundred brass at a time. My problem is the way the brackets slide around the bucket when using the separator. I realize I can rivet or screw them on but I expected it to be a better fit out of the box. The separator also has a tendency to bounce the media around quite a bit; first when pouring in and then again when spinning. Even with the splash guards I end up with a small mess.I wish I had just bought the tumbler and assembled my own "kit" but overall a good purchase for those who want an all-in-one.
