Stirs perfectly for a fuller flavor
To stir, gently raise and lower Scoof in the French Press cylinder and the blades naturally turn to thoroughly mix the coffee into the hot water. Stirring ensures more flavor reaches the final cup as air trapped around the coffee grounds is mixed out and more of the coffee oils are mixed in.
Lifts out floating 'bloom' crust
Some French Press users like to take out the floating bloom that forms like a crust as the coffee brews. Removing the bloom just before plunging helps reduce finer sediment passing through the mesh filter and reaching the final cup. The Scoof blades are ideal for lifting out the bloom easily.
Cleans French Press’ easily
To clean, drain any excess coffee liquid and remove the plunger from the French Press. Twist Scoof into the grounds and lift out - 95% of the waste coffee gone in 3 twists. Remove any remaining grounds using the edge of Scoof as a rake to scrape into the food waste bin. When rinsing under the tap Scoof can be used to draw water up and down the inside of the French Press cylinder to remove all the remaining grounds using a minimal amount of water.
Collect & recycle waste coffee grounds
Collecting coffee waste prevents sink & waste disposal blockages. Scoof saves solid waste from entering drains and the sewerage system, where it can mix with fats and cause major blockages (so-called ‘fatbergs’).
Collecting coffee grounds is better for the environment as they can be disposed of as part of the food waste collection and not go to landfill. Coffee grounds can also be recycled as compost or as a nitrogen-rich fertilizer. There are many other ways of recycling coffee including: a soil for growing mushrooms; drying and compressing into fuel briquets; even as an exfoliating facial scrub!

I wrote an earlier review when I had just received this item. Now I have got the knack of using it I love it! So easy to remove used coffee grounds and dispose in the bin, and scary to see how much previously went down the sink. Also great to stir coffee when you have made it, and one additional use - stirs up the bubbles for washing up the cafetiere!

Erst dachte ich ich brauch es nicht, aber das Teil bekommt den Kaffeesatz aus einer French Press echt fix raus ohne dein Spülbecken verstopfen zu müssen. Vielleicht ein wenig zu viel Geld für das Teil und Material (Plastik) an sich aber es ist solide unt es tut was es soll.

It is a big piece of plastic, packaged in plastic, that works no better than a rubber spatula for the coffee grounds problem.

Not only does it help saturate my coffee grounds thoroughly and evenly, it makes clean-up after brewing so much easier. I had tried a couple different methods that "guaranteed" easier cleaning for my French Press (i.e. steeling bags) but they didn't work. The Scoof however, is perfect. It fit the diameter of my Bodum Press perfectly and it has made my morning routine so much easier (and no longer something to dread).

This did a reasonable job, but the plastic handle broke under normal pressure just a few weeks after we started using it. It was very poorly built.

It can handily stir coffee in tall French press.I’ve used it several times, but it Fails to get more than about 60% of the grounds even with several attempts. I do not recommend this product.

Weird categories in your review. I'm afraid it doesn't have any flavour. It's a really good scoop, you use it to mix the coffee and then scrape the ground out of your cafetiere.

Thanks to Scoof we drink more cafetière coffee these days, and with greater pleasure.We really like this product for both it’s functions: stirred cafetière coffee tastes better and is ready to pour sooner. Cleaning the pot is so easy, keeping messy grounds out of the drains and making them easy to recycle. ( In the garden grounds can be used as a fertiliser and even as a slug repellent ) They make great presents too!Ros

Update: schon nach wenigen Monaten ist der Stiel längs aufgerissen und der "Propeller" abgerissen. Wir haben das Teil nur per Hand abgewaschen.Es tut wirklich genau das, was es soll. Seit Jahren war ich auf der Suche nach einer besseren Lösung, als mit dem Löffel in der Kanne am Boden den Kaffeesatz heraus zu bekommen. Mit diesem Teil entfernt man schnell nahezu die ganzen Reste.Das Umrühren nach der Zubereitung funktioniert natürlich auch einwandfrei.
