I’m a framer and these bits didn’t hold up compared to other brands I’ve used. They break very easily.

I volunteer for Habitat for Humanity and bought this bit to cut 1/2” sheeting out for door and window openings. It worked like a champ, made clean cuts and saved time.

I have one of these panel pilot bits that I purchased early 2020 and have built 17+ houses using it to cut out windows / doors, gable end trusses and other miscellaneous task. Helper said hey man, it's getting a little dull let's chuck up a new one, so I purchased two more in Sep 2021. First one routed about 18" until I accidentally hit a tie plate corner on a gable end, snapped. Mind you the first bit purchased in 2020 has ran through multiple tie plates and chewed up a ton of staples and nail heads. So the second bit I purchased in 2021 I was routing a window, didn't hit any fasteners, wasn't reefing on it, just snapped, just run of the mill 7/16 OSB, no special laminated panel. So I would highly suggest not purchasing this bit if you'll be using it for cutouts for framing until Diablo gets their stuff together. I used a Milwuakee Fuel cordless router with 8ah battery with this.

This cuts plywood flush! Just nail up the plywood and cut out the hole. It follows the studs. Saves so much time. No measuring.

I used this to help cut through siding paneling while building a shed. The door was framed within the entire wall. Then siding put up on the entire wall, and then I used this to cut out the door through the paneling, between the framing members. It helped make my siding look seemless, so that all of the grooves lined up.
