Makes Clean, Razor-Sharp Cuts in Plastic and Non-Ferrous Metals
Achieving premium results when working with plastics and non-ferrous metals is all about clean, accurate cuts. The Freud D1296N makes this process easy, fast, and precise. Constructed for making flawless crosscuts, this blade's proprietary TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth leave a clean, burr-free finish.

Contractors, construction workers, and avid do-it-yourselfers will want to keep this blade on hand for jobs that call for slicing through plastic structures and non-ferrous metal pipes, extrusions, and plates. Appropriate application materials include copper, aluminum, brass, and plastic.

Produces Smooth, Quiet Cuts with Laser-Cut Kerf
The Freud D1296N's clean-cutting design means that you can enjoy the comfort of smooth performance. The thin 0.091-inch kerf between the blade's 96 TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth is laser cut to provide ease of feed, so you have more control over the blade's position. This helps maximize both the accuracy of the cut and the efficiency of your work, so you enjoy a job well done and the ability to complete more tasks in less time.

An added bonus, the blade's laser-cut stabilizer vents reduce noise and vibration during operation, keeping your work environment more relaxed and your hands more in control. This feature also reduces friction and warping, helping to extend the blade's cutting life.

Features Shock-Resistant Carbide for Long-Lasting Precision
So you can count on it over the long term, the Freud D1296N is designed for durability. The blade's hardy teeth are protected by Freud's exclusive shock-resistant TiCo Hi-Density Carbide formula, which helps fight wear and tear and maintains blade sharpness up to four times longer than standard carbide. And protecting the blade is Perma-Shield Non-Stick Coating that provides resistance to heat and corrosion.

Fits Miter Saws
The Freud D1296N is a great addition to your workshop because it's designed with the versatility to fit a variety of miter saws, including sliding miter saws.

This product is covered by Freud's Limited Lifetime Warranty.

This is my second blade of this type and I highly recommend it for cutting moulding. I found the blade to make clean smooth cuts on both wood and aluminum.

I use this primarily for aluminum picture frame stock and it does a great job. It also works well on aluminum piano hinge.I occasionally use it on hardwoods too but am gentle with my cut speed since I dont know about heat buildup. I do get spectacularly clean cuts in wood but would recommend using a wood-specific blade if you mostly cut wood.

This is an excellent blade, cutting smooth and fast, true to the Freud quality I've come to expect. Due to my own fault I ruined this blade in short order and Freud replaced it free of charge. Making a cut, I didn't clamp the workpiece down and used too much downward force, sending the work flying and chipping a tooth. I sent it to Freud expecting to pay for repair, and having been pretty obvious what was clearly my fault, they shipped me a new blade free of charge. Not only that, but they even gave me some usage advice. Terrific company and this is why I pay extra for Red.

Got this to cut polycarbonate sheet. Put it on backwards and cuts perfectly with nice smooth edges. Used a Dewalt cordless skill saw. I assume it cuts plywood fine as well! 😀

Perfect cuts on aluminum extrusions 1.5". I used cutting oil from home depot and went slowly. The cut was perfectly straight and I could perfectly fit bars perpendicularly. I did between 35-40 cuts and it was still doing great at the end.

My wife and I are decided that we should spend sometime in replacing our carpet with a fresh looking laminate flooring. After reading a few articles, they all mentioned making sure to use a blade that was made for cutting laminate flooring. A quick trip to the local hardware stores revealed that these blades are not cheap in cost at all. The same blade at the local hardware store was double the price and well, I wanted to keep my cost down. Found the same blade online and bought it. Cutting laminate floor with this blade is like cutting ham with a sharp knife. We have done two downstairs rooms and so far it is not showing any signs of wear. The cuts are super clean as well.

This summer I decided I would build a 50' dock out of aluminum tubing. So I purchased this blade to put on my sliding compound mitre saw.I was nervous of my purchase not knowing what to expect but this blade cut every piece of of aluminum I threw at it!2" x 4" x 3/16", 1" x 1/4" flat stock, 1" x 2" x 3/16" tube, 1.5" x 3/16" L, 3/4" round bar. 2" x 1/4" L, all with ease. There were well over 100 cuts, maybe over 200 and the blade is still going strong.I even cut 12" x 12" x 1/2" flat plate (slowly).I never write reviews but honestly, this blade really impressed me.It was quiet, smooth and cut my work load down by 90 percent. There is no way I could have done all this work with my metal band saw, I'd still be cutting and frustrated. Not to mention that the cuts would not be as nice and precise. Probably would have broker a few blades as well. Two things that I would suggest:1) always gave the aluminum and the blade a shot of WD402) always cut at a very slow rate and just let the blade do the workIt gets 5 stars for sure.Jon

The Freud 96 tooth D1296N blade is outstanding for aluminum! I have had one last for over 8 years cutting hundreds or perhaps thousands of pieces of aluminum, copper, wood and plastic. I've had one in my Ridgid 12" chop saw and used it primarily for cutting aluminum and if you spray the blade with WD-40 every few cuts while cutting aluminum it will stay super sharp and continue making perfect cuts in aluminum - (looks almost like a milled finish!) My friend had one and did not ever use WD-40 and his cuts were not near as nice after a short while but mine is only finally slowing down after over 8 years of use!!! KEEP YOUR BLADE LUBED WITH WD-40 like the Freud tech support recommends DO NOT USE A WAX STICK OR OTHER LUBRICANT... JUST GOOD OLD, SIMPLE WD-40. You will easily get your money's worth out of this blade! I have cut 2"x4"x1/4" wall rectangle tubing building an aluminum trailer. I've also cut 3/4" x 8" thick 6061 plate with it!!I also use it to cut wood and it works fine however as some other reviewers noted it is not the absolute most clean or fast for wood, but basically I just leave it on my chop saw and it's fine although it is just stellar, I mean absolutely fantastic for aluminum! I also cut some HDPE plastic without lubrication and it was outstanding with nice smooth cuts too. Also worked great with lubrication on copper. Now, I love Freud and their knowledgeable phone support folks. One word of caution is that Amazon seems to have mislabeled some of these so LOOK AT THE ACTUAL SAWBLADE AND FREUD PACKAGING INSIDE TO MAKE SURE IT IS A 96 TOOTH D1296N! I ordered a D1296N but what arrived was a Freud D12100X which is a 100 tooth WOOD cutting blade!! I called Freud to see if it would work on Non-ferrous metals and they said NO, it was meant for wood and wouldn't last long or work very well in aluminum as the tooth material and design is totally different from the 96 Tooth blade. SO I EXCHANGED MINE AND I HOPE AMAZON WILL FIX THIS BUT CHECK YOURS CLOSELY IF YOU ORDER!!! I have a feeling the few negative reviews may be from folks who got the mislabeled D12100X 100 tooth blade instead of the D1296N 96 tooth Non-Ferrous blade! Shame on Amazon for putting their own incorrect D1296N 96 Tooth sticker over what is obviously a D12100X 100 Tooth Blade!

Freud is a brand I typically trust for good value and quality. I haven't used this blade yet, but I am concerned that nowhere on the package does it mention cutting non-ferrous metal. The toughest material it is rated for according to the label is laminate. I will probably use it anyway, as the aluminum I need to cut shouldn't be that big a deal, but perhaps Amazon should clarify this issue.UPDATE: Found a little mention of non-ferrous metal on the package, so my bad, apologies to all. Used the blade today to cut a straight 14" wide 1/2" thick piece of aluminum from both sides on my DeWalt chop saw. I'm thinking it cut as fast through the metal as it would have through most hardwoods. I had my lovely assistant spray the blade with water from a spray bottle to cool the blade a bit while I cut it. The cut was mirror smooth. What more can I say? I'm very happy with the blade and my neighbor is happy with his new aluminum boat transom.
