We purchased the SQ06N10B-A, which is the prior 5700 BTU model 6 years ago. I'm now shopping for a new one. It worked perfectly fine through last summer/fall. Upon turning it on a couple of weeks ago, there's a loud noise coming from the fan and, while the compressor turns on, it's not pumping out any cold air. I just spoke to a Friedrich auth repair guy and he said if the compressor is on and no cold air is coming out that I'm looking at a new A/C. Of course, this comes 11 months after the 5-year factory warranty expired. These are NOT CHEAP and I'm pretty irritated that I'm shopping for a new one already. Given the price of the Friedrichs, I may have to turn elsewhere. I can't afford $800 every few years on something that should last at least 10.So, buyer beware. I'd make sure you have the longest service coverage you can find.

Basically, this device links up with this application called FriedrichConnect, which is this super-primitive smartphone app with a janky as heck interface, which would be acceptable if the damn thing managed to work. The app never keeps you logged in or even remembers your credentials. It seems to spontaneously break so that you cannot control the AC from the app.So why am I bringing the app up in a product review? Because friends, this janky-ass, poorly designed & programmed, bush-league not fitting a major corporation app happens to be the ONLY way to control certain features on this device, namely the scheduling feature. And for a while now, the app just... hasn't been working whatsoever! I literally cannot even disable my schedule, let alone edit it like I wanted to, to account for the change in seasons. But here's the real kicker- as far as I can tell, the ability to stop the AC from running while still drawing power? IT'S APP ONLY BABY! That's right, I can't even make the freaking thing turn off without literally pulling the power cord, which is not in the most convenient of locations! My AC literally has a mind of its own and I am powerless to stop it beyond pulling the power. But are you ready for kicker number 2 you guys? Well get this- it's not that Friedrich doesn't know HOW to make this work, it's that they seem to have made a financial incentive to NOT make it work. See, there's a whole separate Friedrich application called FriedrichGO. The application's UI is clearly far cleaner, and from the average review on the Google Play store, it works far better too, having a 3.1 vs a 1.6 for FriedrichConnect. Oh, and the documentation on the FriedrichGO app is literally 4x longer than for FriedrichConnect; smooth move to let your customers know which ones you actually care about by putting the documentation for these 2 apps in the same manual. It makes models like this feel like a freaking scam job.Now when it works, this unit is alright. Fairly middle of the pack, the real killer feature was and is the WiFi capabilities. It's not the most quiet and has gotten some rattling sounds as of late which is... concerning, especially because the unit is only 3 months old at this point. The default setpoints for when to kick in to cool the room can sometimes cause noticeable spikes. Personally I found the remote control to be unoffensive but unimpressive, still better than the old AC's remote by far. If this did not have WiFi it would be an average, middle-of-the-road AC priced at a premium. With working WiFi, it's a solid investment, but the WiFi breaks often enough for me to say it is not worth considering as a feature in the purchase of this particular unit.

This unit very noisy when compressor kicks in. Front grill vibrates on both units I purchased.Remote control is very primitive, requires to be operated in the direct line with the AC, also drains the AAA batteries within two weeks of moderate use.I made a mistake buying two of them.
