Productive was defective from the factory with clear plastic melt, bubble, and crack, damage to the interior of the freezer. The person or people who managed the quality control completely ignored and/or did not realize very poor quality plastic. The box was not designed to be returned, because it's a type of box that when the plastic traps are cut the hollow tube box is removed off a foam/base plate. Meaning it would require new straps or buying a box for nearly $20 or more to return it. I spent nearly $20 on a return box. UPS that Amazon uses for returns wanted estimated (or nearly) $80 for a box or $100 for a box and padding. A person could buy a cheap new mini fridge for nearly $100, so I think the idea of paying $100 for a box with padding is nearly or actually absurd.

When my main refrigerator started acting up, I did not want to be without some form of refrigeration, so I bought this as a spare. People have spare tires in their cars, so why not have a spare refrigerator as well? The unit works great - nice and quiet. The separate freezer is bigger than it looks from out side. The specs list it as a 1 cubic foot, and it gets nice and cold. It takes about 2-3 hours to cool down, as far as I am concerned. There are no exposed cooling coils in the cabinet, but you can feel the cooling action on the back and sides of the freezer and refrigerator cabinet. I would rather have the old fashioned grill type shelf, since it would be better for circulating the cold air, but the glass shelves do give it a more unexpected upscale look for its small size, especially when the light goes on when you open the door. With the separate freezer, the whole thing likes like a miniature top freezer refrigerator, which why I bought it. Another plus is that it has a defrosting drain, and moisture drip pan over the compressor, so even while it is manual defrost, there would be less work to get rid of the melted frost water.
