After suffering the last three East Texas summers with an expensive 10,000 btu Dual Inverter window AC, I decided to get me a new Frigidaire. We could set the temp on Inverter unit at 63 and we were still kicking off the sheets at night. I slept so good the night we installed this new unit. I even had to pull up the quilt! The noise level is no more than the previous one and blows strong, even on low. The panel lights turn off automatically, so they don't bother you while sleeping. So if you are tired of trying to justify keeping your current AC and suffering inadequate cooling, buy this unit. Our other Frigidaire is over 10 years old and still cooling great, so hopefully this one will last as long.

We're in Central Florida in our big air conditioner is wearing out so we were using two portables in the house to compensate but they weren't cutting it. I ordered this one and decided to go with the 12,000 BTU and we stuck it in the window where the portable was venting. It's been on about an hour and you can definitely tell the difference in the humidity level and comfort level. This is the first day so I'll update later if I need to.It's covering a living room dining area and small kitchen in a double wide mobile home.We just couldn't get any relief and now we actually have some.I love Frigidaire air conditioners I've had them before and in fact had bought a 24,000 BTU 220 volt from Amazon a few years back and we had that in Wisconsin at our country property and it was basically in the field and it would get up to 125 in the house easy without AC. Once we got it hooked up it was like sitting in the snow bank in the winter everything shrunk and crawled back up 😂.I'm hoping this will make the difference enough that we have time to fix the big AC or replace it.If everything works out I may just leave it thereIt is quiet. It's not whisper quiet but we can have a conversation and it's two feet from the dining room table. It doesn't have that big light dimming sound that the old ones had when the compressor would kick in.It wasn't difficult to put in it actually is fairly light for two 60-year-olds (men- not that that makes a difference). We bought the 12,000 unit for under $400 so that was a huge plus right now.I panicked at first cuz it seemed like it was splashing some water, but after looking at some of the reviews I just took a little piece of cloth in poked it down in the corner on the side and hung it down about 8 in the water wicks right out of the air conditioner. That wasn't a deal breaker for me you have to be smarter than the problem and not get all bent out of shape over it.Right now in our area the temps have been sitting over a hundred with the heat index over 110 in the humidity sitting around 95 to 100 so this is definitely a good thing so far.It was 78 in the house when we put it in and right now it's 72 and dropping.Even though portable air conditioners have a hose on them the bulk of the heat is still encased in that cover so it's still radiates heat. After putting this window unit in you could tell the major difference right off the bat.UPS delivered it without a scratch on the box. It got here a couple days early.I definitely recommend it especially for the price and the brand name. When I bought that larger one a few years back the first one didn't work right and I had absolutely no issue exchanging it through Amazon and the seller that I had at the time. I've honestly never had any problem returning things from Amazon and actually have only had to do that for a few things. It sure beats driving to the store in the heat trying to find one that's probably overpriced because it's in Florida. If I were to buy this unit off the shelf down here it would have been about $300 - $400 more just because of the location we're in. So getting this one with free shipping under $400 was awesome.I may get another one in fact haven't decided yet.I wish Amazon would allow comments so we could answer questions right on the site instead of going through that question and answer process and then trying to find it again. So basically it's good it works and it's inexpensive along with being a trusted brand name. For those of you techies it does have Wi-Fi capability.Update August 26, 2024This thing keeps our entire house cool and it cycles on eco mode. It doesn't run continuously. Florida mid to high 90s and it's so comfortable in the house. We've shut the central off and the power bill already went down by $100 for just part of the months use.Well worth it 😄

I had no problems installing the unit. Works and cools a large room well. Outstanding! Then I discovered afterwards I couldn't get the back of the remote open to put the batteries in it.What a design flaw bummer that was. Then I noticed said remote below was the common unifying theme after reading all of the comments on here.An update (8/24) A month has passed. No problems at all. Keeping it at 70 degrees at cool setting on a #1 air flow all day seems to work best for me during the Summer. You then don't have to mess with the unit either. Perfect for me. By using a small indoor desktop thermometer to observe I found out keeping the AC on 71 is too stuffy & 69 is too cold for me for my room. Whatever works, right? I'm 68 yrs old. You need to be comfortable. The sleep mode function has been a godsend because my bed is about 6 ft from my window. So's the AC. During a recent cool spell I set my AC on a 72-->74-->76 eco at bedtime. It runs on a 7 hr cycle. Or I will run it on a 72 eco setting on muggy humid nights. So comfy either way for sleep. I hope this info helps.

Had our unit about 4 months. Only cleaning the filter twice results in plastic tab to break off the holds the filter door on the is required for the unit to run efficiently by keeping dust out of the AC unit. I have one tab left that is hold the cover on. Frigidaire rep tried to tell not needed but was just cosmetic and I quickly straighted him out that it was. This company support rep also stated they have no parts list for this model. Yet ANOTHER flaw in tne unit is no access to the styrofoam drain pan as they covered it up completely meaning you can drop a AC drain tablet in to keep the drain from clogging. You will be forced to use a syringe with vinager or bleach water to inject into the pan to try to keep it clean. Who ever created this unit is not an asset to their company.

Very nice sleep mode, lets the temp raise for 8 hours. People say to me "oh, it takes more energy to cool down if you let your house heat up." That's extreme nonsense - the cooler your house gets, the more energy it takes to cool it further. Letting it warm while you are away can shave your electric bill.limited features, just the basics, but a nice unit, and I love the sleep feature.

The air conditioner’s dimensions are not as stated. I ordered this specific unit because of the dimensions listed in the description. Also, there is no remote included.
