U-joint is a coupling connecting two shaf/ts at different angles to one
another, thus both can rotate freely without undesired friction.
U-joints are constantly under high stress loads and friction, wearing
out and failing due to improper lubrication or abnormal operations
like over-loading or incorrect operating angles. Recognizable
warning failure signs include binding, clunking, and squeaking of
the driveshaf/t along with increasingly rough vibrat/ions. When a
u-joint fails, one end of your driveshaf/t will fall to the ground,
which is highly unsafe, leaving you stranded and needing a tow.
