Works well as designed. Should be fabricated with hole in extension end. Can be blown in wind without securing end. Another improvement would be more of a cup mold at the junction of downspout and extension. Would channel water better.

The top piece is broken on one side. Didn't notice until after authorized return date, because of the recent weather. Guess I'll have to buy another one.

I just replaced my old set that was on my gutter downspouts since 1998 so I can say that they last. Along as you can keep landscapers off them. The color keeps, they install easy, and work well for directing water where you want it to go.

I just installed 4 of these so some installation comments: 1) I had to use tin snips to cut off about 3 inches of my downspout in order to mount these so that there was enough ground clearance to fold it in the "up" position. I guess another benefit of attaching this higher up is that it allows more of a downward angle to make sure the water is flowing away from the house. 2) I drilled holes and used screws to attach it to the downspouts so it wouldn't fall off. There were 2 pre-drilled holes but no screws were provided. 3) I have both 4 inch and 3 inch gutters...This did not fit the 4 inch gutter and I had to cut and bend the downspout edges inward and really force it to make it fit before attaching screws to hold it in place. At the same time, this was way too big for the 3 inch downspout and while I was only able to screw it to the downspout on one side to hold it in place, this left big gaps on the other sides. This shouldn't affect the water flow but just noting it doesn't fit 4) to fold these up and out of the way you need to shorten the channel length to the shortest setting before folding it upright. Even then sometimes they stay up and sometimes they don't. May have to devise something to get them to stay up...which is odd given that this is one of their main advertised features. 5) the whole thing feels very flimsy so will have to see how long it lasts. Several times the part that allows the unit to swivel came unsnapped and I had to snap it back into place 6) they glued a label on the main channel that only partially comes off. Maybe the rest will wear off in the elements. 7) Lastly, I do like that this extends to 6 feet and can be angled in different directions. However, the installation was a little more effort than simply placing on the end of the downspout.

This is a great value in a simple hinged downspout piece. It's designed to be installed at the end of a downspout to extend it but let you flip it up out of the way to mow, or whatever. I actually bought it because my house has long gutters that only have downspouts at one end, and the other end of one of them tends to drip in the winter as soon as any ice forms in the gutter. Then ice forms on the walkway underneath. I mounted this underneath the end of the gutter, with the hinge extending just past the end. When it's folded up beneath the gutter, it blends in. If the gutter drips, the water falls into this extension and goes back the other way, dripping away from the walkway. Problem solved.

Installed these all around my house, price was good but they are not the same quality as another product bought elsewhere and regularly fall off the spout and have to be reinstalled.

I needed these to redirect my downspouts and they work ok but the plastic is not heavy duty so not sure how long they will last in the hot AZ sun in the summer. Also would be nice if they had some sort of retainer for when you fold them up when not in use. I slipped a small bungee behind the downspout that works.

My old downspout drain was over 20 years old. I purchased the exact same one. I love the features of turning it against my foundation out of the way, or tilting it up. I removed the 4" section because my downspout is 3". I just went outside with a screwdriver and it took less than 10 minutes for me to replace it. Not bad for a mechanically inclined senior woman! Can't wait for my boyfriend, Mr. No, to see it!!

Great product and easy to install. Not too happy it was delivered in damaged condition and I had to repair it myself before it could be installed. 2 of the 4 units had the plastic tabs on the swivel broken.

Very flimsy. The extender keeps coming off every time I tried to extend it. Then when I was doing yard work and tried to put it up and it would not stay. Kept falling down. Don't waste your money!
