I had bought the red dot for my marlin 22 rifle and did not realize that the dove tail was too big therefore I needed this adapted to make it work. It works great.

If you have a bb / pellet gun, CO2 pistol or airsoft gun with the old school 3/8 dovetail groves, order this adapter right now. For a few dollars you can double the fun of any of those guns by adding a pic rail mount that allows for any optic using the standard 20mm picatinny rail. There are so many inexpensive optic options out there, so don't limit yourself or your kids to plain old iron sites. Sure, they should learn to use irons, but why stop there? Can you imagine teaching or learning trigger pull using a holographic red dot sight instead of old school iron sights? The amount of immediate sensory feedback offered from looking downrange through a red dot vs looking through old school irons is hugely beneficial. It makes for one heck of a training tool! Not to mention the fun of shooting with a red dot, or even a mounted laser in reduced light conditions.I have three sons from ages 8-15 at the time of this review. I own a small, inexpensive holographic red dot sight mounted on this dovetail adapter. The boys pass it around constantly swapping it on and off their various air guns. They would rather my adapter/red dot combo vs their traditional scope optics. And this is just one of the possibilities a standard picatinny rail offers. Upgrade your optic options for a few dollars and start doubling the fun you can have.
