It fits my early 1969 CT90 with the aftermarket engine mount from another source. Obviously, it’s not a direct swap. But, relatively easy to do with lots of online tutorials available. Nice product, will be getting another for an XR50 swap!

Asked the seller if this would fit a Trail 90 and they assured me it would. I was most worried about the starter clearing the frame tube. You do need the motor adapter plate from DrATV or another producer for the back motor mount as well as the footpeg adapter plate, not only for the factory footpegs to workd but also for the motor mount adapters to line up and fit. The top motor mount hole has to be drilled out to 7/16" for the stock bolt to fit. The bash plate holes need to be slotted or redrilled as well. The carburetor will also have to be clocked with a pit bike intake adapter tube. I also had to buy a different intake tube for the carburetor to fit. I was also able to take the original exhaust pipe and cut it off and use a section of this new exahust pipe and weld them together so i could retain the factory look of the exaust. You can use the exhaust and muffler that comes with the motor, but the original looks much better. The original flange on the exahust is too small as well as being about 3/4" short. So in closing, this probably seems like im saying it doesn't really fit, but it does.....you are just going to need to make modifications. Once i got it all put together, it started immediately and it runs very smooth, has slightly more power than the original, and does a great job. I would recommend replacing the oil with some good high quality motorcycle oil first thing before starting it up.
