These pencils were used for 5th grade students. They absolutely love the pencils; however, imagine the disappointment they felt when these pencils do not sharpen evenly or if not at all. It's not the pencil sharpener because the sharpener was used to sharpen regular pencils. The regular pencils sharpened without a hitch - These pencils do not probably due to the plastic and/or wood used on the pencil. The pencils are super cute but not functional>>>UPDATE 3-25/23Changed the rating from 2 ⭐️ to 3 ⭐️These pencils can be sharpened with a regular hand held sharpener. Does NOT sharpen in an electric sharpener.
