I should have read the reviews. These are not the typical kraft paper manila envelopes I thought I was ordering. They're very thin, even thinner than a standard letter envelope. They're also translucent, if that's a concern.

WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED IN THE QUALITY. THE PRODUCT WAS VERY LIGHT WEIGHT AND FLIMSY. I USED IT FOR MAILING WILL NOT ORDER AGAIN. WOULD LIKE TO RETURN FOR BETTER REPLACEMENT IF POSSIBLE

These envelopes are so cheap I can't even hardly give them away. They are see through so no one wants to mail anything in them. Several of them were all bent on top of the box when they arrived.

These are the definition of "paper thin". Thin enough that you can read black text through the paper. However, if that is not an issue for you, this is a great deal for 500 self-seal envelopes.
