About this item

  • On the Fly Programming: Making changes to your favorite drinks has never been easier. Any time you brew a drink you have the opportunity to change settings to your liking and then save them for next time.
  • Full Color Display: Your favorite drinks have never looked better! Crisp icon based navigation makes brewing fun and easy. A mix of plain text, color, and icons make additional programming a breeze so you can focus on your coffee.
  • Commercial Steam Wand: The best milk drinks are prepared with a true commercial steam wand. Gaggia puts authentic milk frothing at your fingertips, allowing you to properly froth and texture milk for creamy lattes, cappuccinos, and more.
  • One Size Fits All: The updated drip tray and cup riser are an innovative and simple solution to prevent splashing and also to provide sufficient clearance to tall cups. At max height, the Magenta can fit large/travel mugs up to 6” tall.
  • Compact Design: Based on the Anima series espresso machines, the Magenta Plus inherits the same slim design at under 10” wide, tall spouts with 6” of clearance, and the same updated brew group to dose 6.5 - 11.5g of freshly ground coffee for every drink.

The Gaggia Magenta Plus is a featureful and modern super-automatic espresso machine with a full color display, commercial steam wand, and robust customization of your favorite espresso drinks, including a true one-touch americano.

Try cleaning this machine and the experience will make you hate coffee forever. How can every little thing jam, leak, or break on such an expensive product in such a short amount of time? Want to get the brewing unit out to clean? Good luck getting it back in — lift this piece, move that piece over, make sure the other thing is upright, hop on one leg, make sure it's a full moon, and then MAYBE it'll go back into the right position. Try to get it out? JAMMED. Gaggia should be ashamed of themselves for selling this high-priced garbage to customers.

I got this after traveling through Germany last spring. I loved how everywhere I went they had machines like this that made high quality beverages. I ordered this while waiting for my flight home and am so happy! Easy to use, quick start up, decent water capacity, easy to clean, and most importantly it makes consistently delicious espresso/coffee. The steamer wand is excellent, and never fails. The size of the machine isn’t too large. The noise level is medium. I try not to make anything early in the morning before everyone else is up because it will wake the little ones.I’ve made close to 1000 espresso per the machine count (I like coffee…maybe too much) and it is working just as well as when I first got it. Highly recommended!!

I couldn't figure out why the "first startup" procedure wouldn't work.Silly me. The screen wouldn't light because it was covered with an opaque "example" sticker that looked like normal operation should. I pulled it off, and... well, it should work normally.FOLLOWUP: this machine works amazingly well. I tinkered around, wound up measuring the coffee weight in my cheap old machine, increased Gaggia's coffee weight, set the "two cup" espresso option, increased the strength option a notch, an presto! Good crema, great flavor and, once I saved the settings, automatic coffee the way I like it with a single button press!MORE FOLLOWUP: I liked it so much that I bought a 2nd one for our summer place. Note that, on startup, you'll get a "maintence required -5" message. Lift the water tank, plug it in again, and hopefully you'll get rid of the air bubble in the water system.

I have a stainless steel milk pitcher but haven’t used it since I bought this machine almost a year and a half ago. Instead, I eyeball the amount of milk I pour into my latte mug, use the steam wand in the cup for about 70 seconds (adding just enough foam), and then put the cup under the spout for two shots of espresso. It’s perfect every time. This machine is great. Second Gaggia super-automatic for me (the first one served me well and is now being used by a friend). Easy to clean and lube as needed. Highly recommended! I’m already “shopping” for my next Gaggia because I love the brand so much, even though this Magenta Plus is barely broken in.

After about 6 months of use, this $700 machine says I need to add water and does nothing else. It's a brick with one single message. Their support answers once every 1-2 days. And they take it one step at a time. Day 1 = is the machine plugged in?. You can imagine how long you'll be without your $700 machine once it goes down.It makes stellar coffee once you get the chemical crap flushed off the brew group. I used one from an older machine that broke after 2 years. I think this will be my last Gaggia. Excellent coffee. Terrible lifespan.

I've owned Gaggia super automatic espresso machines for about 15 years. My old one died (I forget the model, but it was fire), and I needed a replacement. I bought the Brera, and returned it after one day. The Magenta is continuing the legacy of Gaggia quality. The grind is perfect, and brings out the essence of the coffee beans like no other. The interface is decent, although some backlighting for the actual spot to press to make selections would help the design. The indent to fit taller tumblers works perfectly, and I can leave my thermos resting without worry. The feature to save settings is pretty awesome, and an upgrade from older model.I DO NOT LIKE Gaggia's drip tray design across their entire lineup, but the balance on the Magenta is not bad.

Definite bang for your buck. Espresso is consistent, adjustability of the grind and how hot to brew each drink is a must.A very consistent machine.Cleaning is easy. Even the deep clean, which we do about once a month is straight forward and simple. Once you figure out how to remove the brew chamber and replace it easily. We upgraded from our previous Gaggia super automatic. The touch screen and drink options. Really add a great value. If you always want to be able to grab an espresso or coffee to go in the morning, be sure to fill the beans and the water reservoir the night before.
