It works well, the spring helps to keep the lock engaged and also helps with the opening and closing actionFor a reference I am attaching some images to see the dimensions of the latch in the open and close position, But its pretty much standard for a rolling garage door.In my case, I have to install it at the edge of the rolling door in order to have the latch enter the track.The kit includes two latches and 8 self tapping phillips screws
