My first Garage Shield arrived broken, which is disconcerting since it's supposed to provide protection. I was sent another one, but neither has the Garage Shield sticker on it, so I hope it's not a knock off.

I bought the 2 pack and on one of them had a pushpin that was broken. No problem, I replaced it with a bolt. I see reviews that say that the set screw is not sufficient to hole it in place, and it keeps sliding down. I had no issues with it. It has stayed in place for weeks now, and if it does start to be a problem, I will just drill a hole and place a screw in it. I can see that it may be an issue with some garage doors since many of them have different parts. However, a screw or bolt would solve that. All in all, it works as described and I recommend it for added security.

Item was very easy to install. This is an item I hope never has to be used and am unsure if it will truly work. Hopeful item will deter potential burglars.

This was a great way to add another security provision to your home. I did have to modify the installation by using a few zip ties. Other than that it was good. The product is made out of plastic I would have like to seen it made out of fiberglass or metal.

I think the idea is good and it supports a good entity. It would do the job adequately. I think it is over priced and you could make your own. Also, it did not work on my garage door opener as it interfered with the drive rail. So ultimately, I could not use it. Mounted per instruction and the drive chain would hit it, rub it, shift it out of position, etc.

Unlike several other reviews, I don't have an issue with the shield itself being plastic (although metal would be better). It is thick enough to maintain it's structure and I understand that it is strong enough to block a coat hanger. BUT, the plastic screws that attach the shield to the bracket are junk. I bought two shields for my garage doors and both are falling off after only 2 days. I tried reattaching them but the threading is so weak that they slide off way too easily. Perhaps a thief can't maneuver a coat hanger around the shield, but it wouldn't be too difficult to knock the shield off the j-arm with a coat hanger.

I had trouble trying to figure how the burglars got in my garage, then I discovered that burglars just disconnected by garage door opener and lifted the garage door.Your "Garage Shield" prevents anyone from using a wedge and special tool to get in my garage.

Very easy to install. I had to use a longer screw on one door since the link was flat. Looks like it should work fine. I installed these after my garage was broke into. Way too easy without something like this.
