Overall does the work.. just a bit hard to use and stabilize the cactus when working with it. Would I buy it again? Perhaps not. Kitchen tongs would suffice.

This is a clever tool. It's downfall is the plastic construction is not robust enough for larger cactus. If they were made of metal they would be perfect.

I have prickly pear cactus in my back yard. And from time to time I had the unpleasant job of having to trim them and move their offspring to a different place in the yard and there was never, ever been a time I haven’t gotten one of the short thin thorns in my hands. It would take weeks to finally remove them and usually that was by letting them fester up first. Then my eyes rested on these a month or so ago. Hot Dog I thought, my worries with cactus thorns was over! But they weren’t over. I took them out of the package and the plastic tongs were about the same strength as a plastic straw. I thought there must be something I didn’t know. I found that statement to be true. What I didn’t know is they didn't work. They were worthless, less than worthless. When I tried to pick up even the smallest cactus the tongs would cross over each other, like scissors. They say there’s a fool born every minute and I bet there has been so many of these things purchased since I bought mine there are too many victims to count

These come in pretty handy for potting any small to med size cactus with spines. Wish they were made of metal to hold bigger plants & not bend.
