Not worth the money and sending it back.Screen is awesome! Really big and bright and no problem looking at directions.Love the highway on and off ramp lane merging feature. The unit itself is pretty damn cool. Looks like my old galaxy tab 7inch. Feels robust and heavy duty.I like the unit BUT the software is lacking. You input your truck dimmensions and the garmin will still send you a different direction.Ex. Im on a know truck route road and garmin states that im on a restricted road. And keeps trying to divert me to another road which i know is a restricted road due to weight.Did a system update and same issue. Not worth spending all this money and not working correctly.Again the unit it self is really good and robust but the software needs A LOT of help.

He loves it. Been wanting on for a long time but the cost was an issue. I found the refurbished and got it. Can’t tell any difference from new. Really accurate and does a lot of extras.

Excellent GPS, nice bug screen, easier to make route adjustments than the smaller ones for me. Routing is overall excellent, keeps me out of trouble with height and weight restrictions. I highly recommend. It has a loud speaker to here over the road and truck noises. My only complaint is the pivot on the dash mount is weak. It holds the GPS fine but it pivots downward after a lot of bumping around, I haven't found a way to tighten it up.

All the extra stuff on it is ok. But the way points are hard to get set right and terrible at finding your exact location. I’m an escort for oversize and was trying to get this to help do custom routes but my iPhone navigation is ten times better and it’s free. Don’t buy horrible waste of money has taken me off route countless times, you’ll exit and it’ll be like wait never mind keep going another half mile and make u turn to go back to where you was. I got mine at refurbished price and wouldn’t waste my time using it for a paperweight. Use your iPhone or galaxy it’s free

First one came defective, didn't want to software update, got a replacement and the second one is been working fine, good device, just remember l, as a truck driver, you got to use common sense as well.

Looks and functions like a brand new unit... I am COMPLETELY SATISFIED with this purchase. They back this purchase 100%. I thought they might have included the wrong charger (my mistake). They were willing to ship me another unit and send back the errors... But looking into it further the unit uses one type of connection to charge and another for data transfer... It was very comforting the level of respect and courtesy that was exemplified through this purchase. Amazon gets it right every time... They understand customer service. It is effortless to purchase through Amazon. Thank you.

The quality of the physical device regarding the Garmin Dezl 780 is absolutely outstanding. It is rugged, heavy and indestructible in feel when comparing to ANY of the Rand McNally units. It includes a rubber shell whereas Rand McNally does not.The screen is clear, bright, high in resolution, responsive and smooth. The magnetic mount has a good design and holds very tightly, but the weight of the unit does not help it to stay in position so I’ve learned to rest mine on the dash. The routing is right on par with Rand McNally, but no GPS that I’ve encountered ever suggests the literal perfect route, this is where using Google Maps or an Atlas really helps you (the professional driver) navigate efficiently and make smart course changes. The interface is slightly more complex then Rand McNally but once tinkered with for awhile, becomes no challenge. The coloring of the map is easier and more clear on the eyes.It has a multitude of changeable options or route stats that one might want to see. Time of arrival, drive time left, mile marker you’re closest too, savable routes, direction heading, altitude, etc.Other stuff such as an internet browser, WiFi updates, Bluetooth, voice commands (which I don’t use), customizable wallpapers, pre-programmed shops and rest stops and truck stops just as the other major truck driver models.I do recommend this device over any of the Rand McNallys even though I wish it weren’t the case. Rand McNally has a good interface and routing, but their devices are 3rd world basement branded units which die rather quickly for the cost of purchase.
