There must be a design flaw with this model, I returned the first one I got and I am returning its replacement for the same problem; Multiple instances of the device not turning off after the ignition is turned off. I liked the large screen, though.

Although unit has good display and many features it is difficult to link with car system. Not mentioned in published specifications is this model GPS is not compatible with older vehicle audio systems. Very frustrating as route guidance prompts (audio) fail to work.

This Garmin GPS was a great purchase! The large display and its many functions make it a wonderful accessory for trips into unknown territory. It is refurbished but like new! I am very satisfied.

This is my fifth Garmin GPS over the years!!! With every new unit comes new features and benefits!!! I bought this one for the size (8”) and the smart phone APP! It is much easier to navigate, definitely faster at locating destinations and changes in route, easier to read, and extremely proactive compared to previous units! Also, the initial setup was amazingly easy!!! These units are much more user friendly than the OEM units in my cars!!! Thank you Garmin!!!

The GPS functions of the Garmin DriveSmart are very good, compared to using the Google Maps function on a cell phone. It provides traffic information and speed limit information even when it is not programmed for a route. It sometimes is slow to provide the next action when there are multiple turns required that are closely spaced, resulting in missed turns and having to reroute, but basic information is reasonable, and rerouting to correct missed turns is very quick.The hands-free phone function, including messaging, is another thing. It uses Alexa to manage these features. In order to use Alexa, you must install the app onto your phone and grant it sweeping permissions. After several attempts to do just that, the author gave up and uninstalled Alexa from the phone entirely. The manual gives almost no guidance, and sufficient information was not found when searching the internet.The Alexa features are just too hard to configure to bother with. As my phone is not compatible with my older car, I was hoping that this would make a good substitute for hands-free phone operation, but that is not the case.When you ignore the hands-free phone functions, this is a fairly expensive, simple GPS navigator.

I love this Garmin drivesmart 66. used this recently going to Florida and wow, made the trip so less stressful. excellent directions. really well built and intuitive menus plus the voice control actually works well.
