I ordered this longer pull-up bar because the shorter one was out of stock (after reading a review of that one in WireCutter). I wanted a simple, built-in bar because we have a small space. This longer pull-up bar is surprisingly nice. I like being able to spread my arms out. I installed it across our 48" laundry room/closet. I am not handy but managed to install it in less than an hour. (And most of that time was remembering how to use my drill.) It looks good. Very little give. The company sent out nice directions that anticipated every single one of my questions, as a non-handy person.

I’m 46 now, and have obsessed over doing pull-ups since I was 7 years old. My favorite pull up bars are the kind you find at parks and playgrounds so I’ve always tried to find ones that mimic the quality and feel. However before discovering this bar I’ve always ended up getting rid of the ones I’d purchased because they were either too unsightly due to the color, or too risky to continue using due to the design. I myself could go without the foam grips on this bar, but not my wife and young daughter! (Who both started using this bar about 3 years ago when I got it). I installed it in our widest archway (doorway minus the door) near a dressing room and bath vanity, and it consistently gets used by us all almost everyday because we consistently pass it and consistently see it. Which is exactly what you want too if you also want to be strong and powerful and have the confidence that comes with it! Side note: My wife and daughter barely use the dryer so they also found this bar to be a good use for hanging their delicate clothes to air dry! The foam grips stayed fully intact for about a year, then began to degrade from everyday use by the 3 of us. I recently reached out to the seller about replacing the foam and they eagerly worked with me on a fast, satisfactory solution. Bottom line, this bar and the included hardware is strong af, sturdy af, useful af, and I’ve just recently found out the seller’s customer service aligns with the quality of the product they sell. Thank you! P.S. If installed CORRECTLY, there is no way this bar is EVER coming down! 💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽

Bought this to fit a wide closet doorway.Through a mix-up, I ended up with 2 bars. The top bar is at pull-up height and will stay permanently installed while the second bar is at ballet barre height and will be taken down when not in use. To make setup and takedown faster, I added labels to the lower bar. While the bar is sturdy and I have no concerns about falling, it does have a slight give since installation is close to the maximum length and the bar is made of 2 end pieces threaded to a middle tube. Nevertheless, it feels solid enough to hang upside down on, though I’m sure that’s not recommended, lol.I’ve tried it as a foot bar and push up bar without the brackets, and while it does work, the rubber ends will peel paint.Overall, I’m happy with this bar. It’s sturdy and the foam is comfortable. The company’s customer service is also excellent. I had an issue and they were quite responsive. I recommend the company and would consider them for future purchases.

So, I’m an aerialist and bought this for conditioning at home. I can not only do pull-ups, no problem. I can mount and do sit-ups, or hang different ways and it holds me, without any issues. I mean, I’m not that heavy so it’s not because it’s so sturdy but 135-140 lbs, it handles like a champ. It does spin a little but just adjust it often. Sadly, I’ve had to put 4 holes on each side of my doorframe. I will be adding to that and hanging a hammock from it. Will update if unsuccessful but it should be fine.

Although quite large to fit within conventional doorways, it is of high quality, and durable.

Very pleased with this pull-up bar. It's a large width bar, made to span larger door frames. Check that minimum dimension, it won't get smaller than that. The thing is heavy-duty and solid. It has thick silicon pads at the ends that mate into the mounting cups, allowing a certain amount of "squish" factor. This allows you to give it one extra turn to insure good tight expansion pressure into the mounting brackets. The main bar is 3 main sections, a center tube, and end rods both of which are threaded. You adjust the width of the bar be turning the center tube. When it's good and tight in the brackets, there are locking screws to prevent the bar from turning during use, which could unscrew it over time. The bar has firm ribbed foam grip across the entire bar, another nice touch compared to smaller or positionable grips. On my old bar I had to use bike handlebar tap to create flexible hand zones.EDIT: When being used for overhead chin-ups, the metal cup brackets must be used. These cups have 4 holes for mounting into your doorway or walls. The bar-ends fit into these cups and expands to stay in them. There are gum-drop shaped plugs provided which mate with a hollow in the end of the bar providing additional stability and support. For a low-risk mounting position, like a sit-up bar, you could use these plugs alone. But for chin-ups, use the full mounting system of metal bracket-cup, coupled with the center gum-drop shaped plugs.I had a quick question about mounting, and the seller responded within 8 hours.5 stars, really pleased. Definitely worth the money
