I have been using a broken cap on my lawnmower for over a year now. It finally fell off and I ran it over so I had to replace it and this one did the trick perfect. Clicked right on and it fit perfect and now if it comes loose it won't fall on the ground and get run over.

Our Troy Bilt lawn mower gas cap is constantly wiggling off and getting run over...and it appears the co. isn't making such parts after 10 yrs for their mower. But this one fit pretty good. Make sure you do use the gasket that comes with it. The tighter the cap the less likely it will loosen and fall off. We have even painted it bright orange in the past so we can find it if it does fall off without notice! Just a suggestion. 8-)

As others have noted this cap was not as snug than the original, but it came with an extra o-ring and adding the second o-ring took care of it. I also tried just the o-ring from the original cap which was just as loose as the new one; however *adding* the old o-ring also snugged it up perfectly. (Note that although I didn't try running the mower, the new cap *seemed* snug enough with just one o-ring.)

When initially received, the O-ring was the wrong size for the fuel tank opening. The cap did not fit snugly and repeatedly fell off of the mower due to operating vibration. The seller noticed my original post about this problem and took the initiative to contact me and offer a refund. I mentioned that the only problem was the O-ring and that a slightly larger size *might* work (I could not specify a different size). In less than a week, I had two new caps with two slightly larger O-rings. After trying one on the mower tank, it now fits securely and I should have no more issues. I now also have two spare caps and 1 spare O-ring. A very generous resolution to the initial problem.

This fits my Toro recycler 22 inch stowaway lawnmower, but is loose and wiggles. When mowing around a low bush, it tends to fall off when the cap hits a branch, even with the retainer strap in place. It's OK using in an open lawn but have to be vigilant anytime the mower is used around shrubbery.

I purchased this gas cap because my old gas cap what gas spill out the top. I thought somehow there should be an O-ring around the gas cap so that it wasn't allowed gas out. I had contacted Briggs and Stratton and they said that the gasket was not a replaceable thing but was a part of a gas cap assembly or just the gas cap.I received the gas cap and, because it was the middle of winter, just put it with the lawn mower. It fit - I could tell even through the bag. But as I Was preparing to be mowing here in a few weeks and as I was cleaning up my space I opened the bag and put the gas cap on the mower. It goes on so smooth and so easy. It's because there's no seal.I would not buy this gas cap again! I don't know what my solution is going to be as initially I do not see a way to contact the seller. I certainly hate to take this lawn mower to a shop for a problem with a gas cap.

I have a Craftsman M260 163cc self-propelled mower. The gas cap started to spin off when I should mow around my shrubs. Note: My shrubs are well manicured. Also, I noticed the gas cap would come loose by the mower's vibration. Yes, my blade is balanced. I decided to purchase a replacement gas cap. They arrived and I compared them to the original gas cap. They are an exact match - almost. When I removed the original gas cap and applied these caps, both of them were incredibly loose fitting. I could easily spin them off. Then it dawned on me what the issue is. It's the O ring. The O ring that comes on these caps are too thin. They are thinner than the OEM O ring on the original gas cap, too.I purchased a bag of O rings from here:222 Buna-N O-Ring, 70A Durometer, Black, 1-1/2" ID, 1-3/4" OD, 1/8" Width (Pack of 100) https://a.co/d/fRrQDMmThey arrived today. I replaced the O ring on both caps and applied the caps to the gas tank. Snug fit - even moreso than the original gas cap.If I had realized it was O ring issue, I would have just replaced the O ring on the original cap. So, I have 2 extra gas caps.Somebody may chime in saying, "If the fit is that tight, the gas won't be able flow." That would be incorrect. If you flip the gas cap over, you should see two pin holes. Those are the vents. True, some mowers don't have vented caps. My mower does.If you ran over your gas cap with your mower, then grab these gas caps along with O rings I shared the link to. If you are just purchasing a new gas cap because your current one is loose, buy only the O rings and replace the one on your current gas cap. Or, yet another plot twist, if you just want 2 extra gas caps in the event you refill the tank, leave the lid off accidentally, and mow it to shreds, grab this set of gas caps and the O rings. It was more cost effective to buy the bundle of O rings than one single O ring for the same price. I figured I would mention that because the bag has 100 O rings.Hope this helps.Christopher - The Tall One
