I do not understand why a company would not check to see if the rubber seal on a gas cap is gasoline safe. This one was installed on my generator for less than 24 hours before going in the trash. The inner seal is not compatible with gasoline. It was dissolving and became a very sticky mess. I run 90 octane ethanol free fuel with red Stabil in all my yard equipment and generators. I needed to replace the leaking fuel cap on one of my generators so I gave this one a try. It was on less than 24 before the rubber seal started to dissolve. The rubber seal on my 20 year old cap was no longer sealing so it was time to replace. The fuel has been in the generator since the beginning of winter and the rubber in the old cap still looked fine. I checked all my other equipment and they were fine also. Don't waste your money, you will just end up returning it.
