Very dim. Do not get near as much light as a regular old school black light. The spot light has to really be close to the object to see any purple, even with any white material to pick up the purple.

These didn’t last at all.One of them popped in the fixture within a week, and the second one burned out by week 2.I bought them to attempt to light up my front yard for Halloween. To try to get some glow off the ghosts and skeletons. They just aren’t bright enough for that.

It's fine. Not as bright as newer LED bulbs. It is definitely more of a true blacklite than a UV light. So you are wasting a lot of energy passing incandescent light through a UV filter. Also gets quite hot.

I bought this light for my son as a surprise gift, as he's been asking for a black light for over 4 years. Not only walk in his bedroom in complete shocked, he was also completely mesmorized. I bought a cheaper brand before and it blew the first time I turned the switch on. I'm just glad my son was at school when it happened. i will defiantly order more of these bulbs, and I will use the same seller if possible.

I love these lights!I had a blacklight party in a pretty large space that was covered with "top hat" or "dimmer" lights. Not sure what they are called but they sort of recessed into the ceiling. Anyways, I replaced the normal lights with these bulbs and what a great effect they had! I installed about 16 of these into the ceiling and with just a few additional blacklights from the corners of the room, everything glowed to perfection. I was very pleased with the purchase and happy to say they are stored and waiting for the next party!

I purchased this product knowing it only produced dark purple light. When I put it in a socket (exact same wattage) and turned it on it slowly came on, produced good light, the you could see vaporization of something within the bulb. After less than thirty seconds it popped and never worked again. I would NEVER buy this light again. Ended up going to my local hardware store and buying more cfls.
