The box was crushed in transit and the element was bent. However, it straightened without much difficulty and works fine.

InstallationI bought this to replace the defective heating element in my oven. When I removed the old part, I found that one of the terminals had disintegrated, which explains why my oven no longer heated up. This was a push-socket install, with no screws to attach the 220-V spade connectors. This mean an easy installation, far easier than I had initially thought because I had seen a bunch of YouTube videos. They all showed screws attaching the spade wire connectors coming out of the oven into the terminals of the heating element.I do wish this replacement part was a lot cheaper. A lot of other GE heating (like) elements were in the $30 or $40 dollar range. This heating element was close to $100. For some reason, the seller kept changing the price by several dollars every few hours. This added to my frustration, as Amazon was refusing to do anything about it, even though I had reported this. I can appreciate a free market economy but there's just something not cool about changing the price every few hours.Genuine OEM?I doubt this is true. The original part that came out of my oven has the part number stamped into the metal. This one does not.PackagingThe heating element came shipped in a stiff cardboard box as protection. The terminals had Styrofoam covering it to protect against further damage during transit.Overall ImpressionsOverall, the heating element looks well-constructed. It feels sturdy in my hands. I think it will last many years.

Bought this to replace the original element that had corroded contacts that were so bad the wires were disconnected. And it happened on Christmas day while making dinner! Had to use the broiler element to finish the cooking. Got this OEM GE element that was pretty easy to replace (if you know how to remove your oven from the wall). Understand though that you have to access to the back of oven if the wires do not come through when you remove the element which is what happened to mine. Also on mine, I had to crimp a new connection on the wire since the old one was no good. Make sure you cut power to the oven before doing any work!

Comes in plain OEM box with no instructions, but installation is easy and help is available online if you need it. Our original GE oven bake element shorted out spectacularly on a Thursday evening. Decided on a genuine GE replacement (more expensive that generic clones, but many have had problems with fit and durability). Glad I ordered this - it came Saturday morning, had it installed and working within 48 hours of the original failure.SUGGESTIONS FOR INSTALLATION: Turn off the breaker and verify no power to the oven with a tester; Remove the oven door (most just lift off) and racks. Remove the 2 screws holding the element (may be phillips or hex head). Put on some gloves before you pull the old element and its connectors out - you'll have to push the rock wool insulation back as you pull out the wires. Make sure you have just enough wire pulled out to grab the connectors firmly - don't let the ends fall back into the insulation! You may need a pair of pliers to grab the terminals if they don't pull off easily. When you plug in the new element, you may need to crimp the connectors SLIGHTLY if the fit is loose. Then push the end back into the insulation, install the screws, and you are done.

Great price on a heating element for our older oven. We just were not ready to replace the entire appliance so this was the next best thing. Our older element was taking forever to heat up to even 350 so we wanted to see if this would make a difference. It did somewhat but our appliance will soon need to be replaced. The shipping was speedy

I have only used my oven twice since installing the element but it was easy to install and seems to be working pretty good. I thought the price was reasonable. The only small problem we had was the time it took to get here. I thought it said within 3 days but it took about 7-10. It was a small problem overall. I would recommend anyone looking for this particular element to fill good about ordering this.

I am very pleased with the fit and easy installation of this replacement element for my GE Profile Convection Oven. This was the best price I found on this product and it arrived very quickly and was easy to install. My husband replaced the old element with this new one in a matter of minutes. It heats very quickly and efficiently and my oven is working better than it has in several years!
