This is a perfect replacement for the original that burned out. It was easy and simple to install, went in quickly, and works great. I've checked temps with an oven thermometer and it heats consistently.

The GE WB44X5082 Bake Element fit my Hotpoint model number RB5250J4AD electric stove perfectly and is a quality made product. Installation was super easy and now my stove is fully functional. I am able to use my Hotpoint stove's oven to bake again. There are many good YouTube tutorials on how to replace your "bake element" in your stove.Always make sure to disconnect power to your stove before attempting replacement by either disconnecting the stove's power cord or turning off the 40amp breaker for your stove at your electrical wiring box.

Works great!! It’s the closest item I could find to replace the element in my super old oven. Mine isn’t a self cleaning oven, but this still works just fine! It did take my husband and myself to install it. I guess because of the awkward angle and where the screws go in. I had to balance the element at needed level. He had to get screws in right spot. Even with a magnetic tool, he kept dropping them. It was also a hassle finding the correct fitting tool. Maybe we just didn’t have a good variety of typically common sizes. I just remember digging and digging for the right one. Overall, very happy with the product since I didn’t have to buy a whole new stove!!

I bought this to replace the lower bake element in our 1985 GE Oven (model JBC 26F). It was very easy to install.....just remove the screws at the back of the original element, pull it out and unhook the wires (being careful to keep them from retracting into the oven insulation), attach the new element to the wires, push it in and screw the backplate into the oven wall. And of course, turn off the circuit breaker to the oven and/or unplug the oven before starting! This new element has been working great for several weeks, good as new. The old element lasted for 30 years, but of course I have no clue as to how well this new one will hold up...it is identical to the old one though. And it was a LOT cheaper than buying a new oven.By the way, the Amazon listing says "Bake Element for Self Cleaning Ovens" but ours is a non-self-cleaning model - so don't rule it out if you have an old GE range - just be sure to double check your model number for compatibility.

The Good:I ordered this late Sunday 7/7/13 and it arrived just after 9am this morning 7/18/13. Product was easy to fit despite no instructions. Product seems to be working like a charm, left at 400 degrees for 1 hour, and oven stayed at temperature without issue. The Bad:The product was VERY poorly wrapped considering it is a heating element. It was simply placed inside of a shipping box with no further packaging. The box itself was damaged in transit but thankfully the product didn't seem to be damaged otherwise I would have rejected it. Being a heating element that is prone to failure due to damage (bending, nicks, scratches etc) the element should have had sufficient packaging to stop it being bent or allowing it to move around in its own box during shipping. I will be contacting the seller regarding this.

So, when the element went out on my oven, I overhear my wife discussing the issue with my mother-in-law. They had come to the conclusion that getting someone to replace this would be costly, and we should be looking at buying a new oven. I'll always try to fix something if it can be safely done. I usually go to a appliance parts place to get these sorts of things, but I think those guys have some inflated prices. On a whim I checked Amazon... thanks to Amazon Prime, I had the element in my hands in two days. So, a total investment of two days, turning four screws to remove and replace the old element, and a total of about $20 spent, my oven is back in action.Pros:Amazon Prime eligible (two days FREE shipping)Perfect fit (easy replacement)Cons:Wife might have liked a new oven.... ;-)

The baking element in my oven burned out, couldn't use my oven at all. I was somewhat put out because I like to bake. Searched local stores and websites. Either I coulkdn't find the right part or the cost was too high. This site was the perfect site for this purchase, the brand new price was much less than other vendors (local and web site)even with the shipping and handling. Delivery was scheduled for 10-14 days, I got it 2 days after the order was placed. I originally asked one of the men of our church to put it in for me, but after getting it so quickly I looked at it and compared it to the one in my oven and decided to do it myself. It didn't come with instructions but it was easy. I unplugged the stove, unscrewed the screws from the back wall and from the prongs holding the wires, reversed my steps and put the new one in, took about 30 minutes. It was the exact part & works perfectly, now I can use my oven again.
