I was using a different stand for years and this one really made all the difference. It took me a moment, looking at other photos to figure out how to tilted back, depending on how you connect the arm to the mic stand, but once I got it, it became my new favorite.

Using on a mic stand in conjunction with an I Pad tablet holder. I use both music books and tablet. Can have both handy in a small cramped space, on a single mic support. Easily switch between the two. Stand itself was easy to adjust to support a book.

I initially returned this and feel bad now bc it has such a high return rating that Amazon posted that notice. But I only returned it because I didn’t realize I had to unscrew a part and then just screw its back in.I am SO SICK of piano sheet music being at my hands, though. It’s tiny black dots on black lines. What is ergonomic about putting it at hands level?!? So I gave it another chance bc this is the only thing like this that I could find. It’s great. The only thing I wish is that it were two notebooks-width-wide. But it’s surely metal that would probably weigh too much. And it’s absolutely wide enough and with the bottom ledge big enough that it should be fine. And considering I don’t know anything else out there on the market that does this? I’ll take it.Sorry about the return before, y’all. Best suggestion is for y’all to make sure everything is loosened with the screws positioned so it’s intuitive. Customers aren’t used to needing to disassemble the process that never get taken apart in other products. It’s a SIMPLE hand twist process with no tools needed, but that doesn’t mean it’s wise to expect customers to know that counter intuitive thing is the solution. It’s probably a big part of your return issue. And an easy no cost fix that could save your business

I agree with those reviewers who raised the concern about weight, lack of ‘tiltability’ and the stand being flimsy. I bought this to attach it to my drum set that I have kept in a limited space and the issue I faced was it’s inability to stay in place.Good things:Great ideaEasy to assemble and attachSolid and Well builtWhat I did not like:Unnecessary heavy- the plate itself is very heavy that it can hold the weight of a laptop! But the clamp can not mainly because of the design. It is this weight that makes it unstable or flimsyGreat idea poorly designedI am not saying it would not work for others but at least it is not for me.

I LOVE this thing! The perforations have been ideal as a point to zip tie different pieces of gear. I use it in live sound recording as a surface to mount battery packs, transmitters, and so forth. The only thing I don’t love the mounting arm — I wish it was a bit deeper at the mounting point and that the screw/knob had a bigger/better rubber pad on it. The construction of the the mounting hardware is quite clever though, allowing for an easier shape to store/transport. And this thing is STURDY. HIGHLY RECOMMENED.

Works great with my iPad and a boom mic. Can offset to the side so my trumpet doesn't get in the way of reading the music while I'm blowing into the mic. The best part is it's one less stand I have to load in to the gig! You will have to fiddle with it a little bit to find the position that works best with you. Also you need a wide tripod base on your mic stand so it doesn't tip over with the heavy iPad sitting on it.

The materials fairly solid, especially for the cost. But they're held together with relatively weak fasteners so the other all feel when using it is DIY. Which in itself is kind of a boon, as you'll be quick to modify for your own needs. A dab of loctite will go a long way with this thing. Works great for thinner mic stands, but was too narrow to fit any of our more durable stands. If the c clamp was just a 1/2" wider the stand would be waaaay more useful.
