I use it to split already cut wood for my charcoal BBQ. It is a very well-made hatchet with a nice finish. Sharpens well.

I'm fairly impressed by this little hatchet. Has a great feel with a nice weight and good handle. Mine needed some minor sharpening upon arrival. Right out of the package the head showed signs of surface rust, nothing major just annoying. Overall it should be a handy tool for my wilderness trips.

This is a good balanced hatchet for small split logs for the fire. It's not heavy duty enough for splitting logs, but great for making kindling and smaller pieces.
