I installed this in my Generac house generator and it's back up and running. Easily installed and only took about 20 minutes.

Since we were having power outages we decided to check the generator. This apart worked great as the replacement. We were so glad it worked correct and went in with no problem.

I selected this product because it specifically stated it was the OEM part number. Unfortunately I was sent a replacement part with different connections. I really needed a plug and play switch. Now I have to get someone to come out and modify the wiring in order to use it as this product does not support the screw on wire connection in place on the generator. That being said, I am grateful to have this part as our generator failed during the Hurricane Helene fallout in WNC. Also on the positive side, I ordered two of these. Once the wiring modification is made the next time I need to change it out it will be ready to go.

Seems that generac is having problems with these oil pressure sensors. Me, and my neighbor, had oil pressure shut-downs. I tested my sensor (disconnect one wire and see if the engine will run, and sure enough it was a bad sensor). Ordered and replaced it with this - my generator is now working fine. The next year same thing happened to my neighbor. If you have a generac, keep one of these on hand just in case.

This pressure switch worked perfectly. It was a direct replacement for my generator so no changes to wire connectors needed. Remove two screws, spin old switch out. Spin new switch and tighten. Connect wires with the 2 screws and the change is done. I have had it installed for about 3 months, running every Saturday for 10 minutes. No issues to date.

Mine looks exactly as pictured with the screw on connectors on the unit in lieu of the spade slide on connectors others have noted getting. The original one I was replacing had spade connectors, so getting the screw on one meant I had to cut the 2 female spade connectors off the generator and connect a U shaped connector that could slide under the screw on either side to screw down. I had them on hand, so not a big deal, but a little extra work. One wire goes into one connector, but 2 go into the other, so you need a connector with a large enough hole to accommodate 2 wires. Pressure switch seems to have resolved the issue of the red light turning and and signaling low oil pressure which was shutting the generator off shortly after it starts for a weekly test, so I am happy.I actually called the generator company to come and deal with it before doing it myself and they said they would pressure test it to make sure it wasn't the oil pump, which is a plastic geared wheel inside the engine. That would let them know if the generator was creating adequate (35-45psi) pressure, otherwise it would likely be the switch. Of course, that would have set me back a couple hundred for a service call, too, but I would know that the generator was working fine and the oil pressure sensor was the issue. When they didn't show up for 4 weeks because no one seems to work anymore, I realized that it was worth just replacing this cheap part since it is the most likely culprit by far and, according to them, the oil pump rarely fails. This switch shuts the machine down if there is less than 10psi, so I must have more than a sufficient amount. If the switch didn't work, then you would have bigger issues, but it does work in my case.BTW, seems well made, but came in a generic white box and there is no indication on it that it is OEM Generac. It looks lie the original part, other than the connectors. Of course, Generac doesn't make these themselves, but I can't say whether it is a Generac OEM approved switch or a knockoff.Another point - don't listen to Generac when they say you can go 2 years without changing the oil I was changing it every year and then decided to follow their advice and go 2 years since I had no outages and wanted to do right by the environment. Total mistake. The oil level was fine, but the fill plug had a creamy white substance all over the underside which means there was water in it. Do it every year. I don't know if that is what caused the oil pressure switch to fail, but you don't want water in your oil.

So glad this genuine part was available, saved a service call and probably over $450 by doing this myself. For under $50 it is well worth a try if your generator shuts down after a couple of minutes and you see a “ Low Oil” light come on. (Check oil levels first before purchasing this part).Put plumbers tape on the threads and be ready because a little oil will leak out as you replace the part. Also make sure you have the terminals attached to the wires the same as before. *relatively easy install * excellent value *happy it solved the problem!
