The orignal spring is Generac part number 070576. Nope not available anywhere, so I bought this Generac 0C3978 anti-lash spring. It will have to be shortened by four inches as an estimate. The old spring was totally corroded and could not be messured. I just kept shortening in increments till it was doing the job. This spring has higher tension from my observation of the original spring. You will need to confirm the voltage and HZ output are properly calibrated once the spring is installed prior to powering any loads. At no load the the voltage is 120 vac and 62 to 63 Hz and with 27 amp load 110 volts and 58 to 60 Hz. Perhaps tweeking the governor spring may close the Hz fluctuations since Hz is determined by engine RPM. The best I can do on this old but very well maintained and running genset with less than 300 hours on it.

This bouncy little spring is just what the doctor ordered to fix my generator! Its metal, it hooks on, it pulls on the throttle. It's Great!
