Perfect fit took about 15 minutes to change and you can use the original rubber grommet from the old one.

Was able to put the truck on a lift which really helped. The non professional mechanic friend of mine was under the truck and had his nephew snake the tube down from the top. He pulled the #6 or 8 plug wire, whichever one was in the way. I was under the truck so I didn’t see which one. It took them about 10-15 to hit the perfect angles for installation. One of those, you have to hold your mouth just right to get it in. But I saw YouTube videos where the mechanic removed the transmission mount to install it? Not necessary. The guys showed amazing patience which made it go very smoothly.

Not an easy install. Tight space, you have to go I'm from underneath truck and manhandle into place. Replaced grommet when replaced this tube.

The part is decent and good value for the price. Installation is tricky so look for guides online on how to do it.

I have a 2011 Silverado 1500 with the 5.3L and a 6-speed auto trans. This part was an identical replacement for the original tube that busted at anchor point midway down the tube.Now I'm not all that savvy with working on cars, but I am somewhat mechanically inclined. I normally don't post reviews on Amazon but I wanted to leave some guidance for the next poor soul that decides to replace a broken dipstick tube rather than paying a mechanic.Since the original broke in half, taking it out was a breeze. Just remove one nut from the anchor, and two bolts from the passenger side tranny heat shield to make the process a little easier. Pull the tube out of the tranny and remove from underneath the vehicle.Getting the new full length tube in was a real pain. I read online that you can install it from the engine compartment, but I couldn't figure it out. It seemed impossible to install from the engine compartment because of the tight quarters, twists and turns in the tube and that annoying little anchor point that sticks out of the side.So I tried from underneath the vehicle and made a lot more progress than I did from up above. The problem I ran into was that I couldn't get the tube high enough to insert it into the tranny without putting stress on the tube. After several attempts of trying to find a way in from the engine compartment and trying to get the extra 2-3 inches I needed from the bottom, I decided to force it into place from the bottom with some good old fashioned elbow grease! If you end up doing the same, make sure you put the grommet on the end of the tube first.Everything after that went back in place no problem. I ran the truck for 15 minutes, checked the trans level and checked for leaks. So far so good.I hope this helps. Good luck!

Good product as it is the original equipment.I will say that because of the length and the tight quarters that you will be dealing with, it is a bit of a hard install. I hope in the long run it holds up longer and that the same stress crack does not happen to this one as did the one that was in the truck from the factory.
