I like the detail in the markings but the locking mechanism leaves much to be desired. It is a poor design with a conical washer. After tightening, there is annoying slop and the arm isn't held in place well. I was going to return it but instead I 3D printed a washer to aid the locking mechanism. Was expecting more from "General".

A friend recommended this as a sturdy tool to measure slant angle in calligraphy. It works as expected but could be better. I wish there are holes along the straight ruler so I can draw circles with this tool.

The thumb screw wont tighten enough to lock it in place. Even with it "tightened" the pieces flop around and won't hold the angle. It seems kind of like the thumbscrew bottoms out before it gets tight. It shouldn't be a very difficult problem for the manufacturer to fix. But maybe I just got a lemon

I've had the square version of this (#17) for about 10 years, using it off and on as a woodworking hobbyist. Having been very pleased with it, I decided to buy a backup just in case. Bought this rounded one (#18), and am pleased. Appears to be the same good quality as my other one, and I figure I'm good for another many years.One critique ... The finish on my old one is not as glossy as this one, and I don't think it's from use. But the difference can be felt in setting the gauge, where the slightly rougher finish helps the gauge keep setting without potentially slipping.

wonderful experience as it were. the product arrived in a timely manner. it was packaged in a nice looking undamaged box. i proceeded to open it with a non metallic scraper so as it not damage the product inside. to my surprise when i opened said item it was undamaged and in the most perfect shape. i think i will place the item under my pillow nightly just to keep it safe and undamaged. thank you for producing, packaging, shipping such a wonderful product. you are indeed the best. keep up the good work. that is all.........................

I use this on most of my complex cuts along with a digital angle meter to line up my saw blades before angle cuts. It's very accurate and useful. Not hard to figure out either. Well worth the money.

Rate a protractor? Sure, when it's worth admitting that it's a good tool. It's easy to read and easy to use. The knurled tightening knob really secures the angle. I've used it on a few projects and have been happy with it. What else is there to say about a simple tool? It does what it's supposed to.
