LATING Generator Interlock Kit Compatible with Eaton/Cutler Hammer BR SERIES 150 or 200 Amp Panels, Brushed Nickel
How It Works?
- When moved down, the plate blocks the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain ON.
- When moved up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned ON, but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain OFF.
What is a generator interlock?
- Generator lock consists of two sliding metal plates held together by three bolts.
- It is a device just manual slide up and down interlock plate to allow safe back feeding of your home through a portable generator during power outages, preventing utility and generator supplies from being ON at the same time.
- It’s used to direct the generator power to any circuit in your house safely in the event of an unexpected power outage, so that you can use electricity normally.
- NOTE: Only qualified personnel should be working on any panel box. An amateur should never open or work on a panel box. Please follow all rules and regulations of the National Electric Code.
EASY TO INSTALL THE LOCKOUT KIT:
1. Power Off
Power off, place the bottom plate(holes only) EXACTLY as shown and then use the pen to mark holes through the bottom plate's holes.
2. Drill Holes
Remove the panel cover from the breaker panel and drill the three holes marked on the panel cover using the supplied 3/16'' drill bit.
3. Install Interlock
Insert the screws from rear of cover, install the bottom plate and top plate on the front cover of the breaker panel. Please make sure that the top plate can be pulled freely (enough space).
4. Test The Lock
As shown, you see that the main breaker is ON, the generator breaker is OFF and can not be switched ON. The inter lock has been properly installed. Lastly, apply all labels on electric panel.

Drill Bit And Screws
- Supplied drill bit is made of steel and plated with PVD titanium on the surface with a metallic appearance, never fading, high hardness and wear resistance.
- The surface of our screws is galvanized, which is durable and not easy to get rusted.
Generator Breaker Retainer Straps
- There are some plays in the connection between the generator breakers and it may be some movement. Zip ties go around the generator breaker and adjacent breakers to hold them solidly to the panel. This helps keep the generator breaker from shifting.

I have an Eaton panel with type ch breakers. While this had the correct distance between breaker and main breaker the tab that stops you from turning on the generator breaker was to wide. In the end I took a grinder and cut about half and inch off to make it narrow enough to work. Overall it will do what i need but for some reason my panel was just different enough.

The kit is a must if you are installing a portable generator at home. The kit even included the drill bit needed to make the holes in the face plate and it only took me 15 min to install. Comprehensive instructions and the warning stickers are a nice add on.

The interlock was easy to install and works great. A drill is required (I used a drill press but a small electric hand drill can easily be used) to drill three 3/16" holes. The kit even includes a drill bit. Installation is a simple process for any one with basic handyman skills.

This will keep everybody down the line safe. I'm talking about lineman, working to restore power in the neighborhoods. If you use this device and you have your generator wired in to your panel. You can operate the generator breaker until your main is off. No back feet down the line. Works great very simple highly recommended if generator is wired into your panel box. With no automatic changeover panel. Highly recommend

Product was first rate, however the instructions where not went to youtube and found a video that gave a much better step by step process on how to set everything up. Also, found the exact product downtown and they wanted to charge me three times what a paid for on Amazon.
