LATING Generator Interlock Kit Compatible with Thomas/Betts/Challenger/Westinghouse 150 or 200 Amp Panels, Silver
How It Works?
- When moved down, the plate blocks the generator back feed circuit breaker and allows the main breaker to remain ON.
- When moved up, the generator back feed circuit breaker may be turned ON, but the main circuit breaker is blocked and will remain OFF.
What is a generator interlock?
- Generator lock consists of two sliding metal plates held together by three bolts.
- It is a device just manual slide up and down interlock plate to allow safe back feeding of your home through a portable generator during power outages, preventing utility and generator supplies from being ON at the same time.
- It’s used to direct the generator power to any circuit in your house safely in the event of an unexpected power outage, so that you can use electricity normally.
- NOTE: Only qualified personnel should be working on any panel box. An amateur should never open or work on a panel box. Please follow all rules and regulations of the National Electric Code.
EASY TO INSTALL THE LOCKOUT KIT:
Step1. Power Off
Power off, place the bottom plate(holes only) EXACTLY as shown and then use the pen to mark holes through the bottom plate's holes.
Step2. Drill Holes
Remove the panel cover from the breaker panel and drill the three holes marked on the panel cover using the supplied 3/16'' drill bit.
Step3. Install Interlock
Insert the screws from rear of cover, install the bottom plate and top plate on the front cover of the breaker panel. Please make sure that the top plate can be pulled freely (enough space).
Step4. Test The Lock
As shown, you see that the main breaker is ON, the generator breaker is OFF and can not be switched ON. The inter lock has been properly installed. Lastly, apply all labels on electric panel.

Drill Bit And Screws
- Supplied drill bit is made of steel and plated with PVD titanium on the surface with a metallic appearance, never fading, high hardness and wear resistance.
- The surface of our screws is galvanized, which is durable and not easy to get rusted.
Generator Breaker Retainer Straps
- There are some plays in the connection between the generator breakers and it may be some movement. Zip ties go around the generator breaker and adjacent breakers to hold them solidly to the panel. This helps keep the generator breaker from shifting.

This product is great for people who don't know much about electricity. My wife doesn't know much about it so this is a must in case I'm not home at time of power outage.

I’ve got an older Westinghouse breaker box. This installation was easy and straight forward. It works great and only allows the main or generator breaker to be in the on position one at a time, for safety. Don’t skip this step! It’s unsafe and possibly illegal. Buy this kit and safeguard yourself, your property, and others.

Kit allowed for a relatively easy hook up from my generator to my distribution panel. Only unexpected issue was that the “knockout plug” in the box had to be drilled out, unlike a typical gang box where the plugs can be removed with a screwdriver. Interlock Switch Plate worked perfectly and was easy to install.
