Interlock Kit Installation Steps
- With the power off, place the bottom plate (the one with 3 holes) over the top left breaker and mark the location with a pen in the bottom plate holes.
- Remove the panel cover from the circuit breaker panel and drill the three holes marked on the panel cover using the 3/16" drill bit provided.
- Insert the screws from the back of the cover plate, install the bottom plate and top plate to the front cover plate of the circuit breaker panel, fix with nuts, make sure there is enough space for the top plate to pull freely.
- Combine the zip ties into a loop and install the zip ties around the top circuit breaker in the panel.
- Place warning labels in appropriate locations.
- As shown, the main breaker is open and the generator breaker is closed and cannot be opened. The interlock is properly installed.
- The interlock kit requires manual operation and prevents both utility and generator power from being turned on at the same time by sliding the interlock plate left and right.
- In the event of a utility power outage, the main breaker and all other breakers must be turned off, the interlock kit adjusted to the generator breaker, and the generator connection circuit working properly.
- Interlock kits allow you to deliver power from the generator to any circuit within the electrical panel. You can know which circuit breakers to close or keep on during a power outage.
- This eliminates unsafe generator feedback conditions and prevents damage to electrical equipment during a power outage.

The kit was cheaper than a lot of other options out there. There is some slop in the sliding plate but it does the job. Great stickers too. I would recommend it and buy it again, although hopefully I don’t need to at least at this house.

Worked exactly as supposed to. Measure 3 times, drill once. After you have it all wired up, it’s legal. Does exactly what it’s supposed to.

Careful installation will yield the best results. This installed perfectly for me, but I took a few minutes to make sure the layout was functional before drilling, and then drilling carefully with increasing bit sizes. It works exactly how you'd expect, but the tolerances are tight.

This is a must-have if you're trying to connect your generator to your home electrical panel safely. The instructions are straight forward to follow but if you're not comfortable with electrical work I would hire an electrician or trained professional to install it.

May need to have installed by an electrician when you have the 50AMP Circuit breaker for the Backup Generator. Allows you to use your installed electrical panel in your home. when power is lost turn off the main breakers and when you flip on your Generator's 50 amp circuit it blocks the possibility of turning the main breakers back on while the Generator is providing backup power.

This unit worked but wasn't quite the correct size for my Siemens 200 amp box. It installed easally. Even had the correct drill for the holes. The arm prevented my 50 amp double through to completely open. I had to grind the arm smaller for it to work properly. It works correctly now but frustrating having to modify a new product . That is why I didn't give it a perfect score.

This interlock kit worked great! It was very easy to install, and everything I needed was in the kit. Great price, too! I did have to grind about 1/16" from the top of the interlock where it hits the main breaker, because it was just a bit too long, but that was not a problem. I'm very happy with this interlock kit, and I know my power company is, too!
