Generator interlock kit allow safe backfeeding of a home through a portable generator during power outages. It eliminates unsafe generator backfeeding situations that could potentially electrocute electric power company workers or destroy the generator.

Our devices will allow only one main circuit breaker to be in the ON (I) position at any time. The bracket slides between the handle of the utility main circuit breaker and the handle of the generator supply main circuit breaker.

With some basic electrical knowledge I installed this so my wife could run the generator without needing me there. The instructions are simple enough and the install is just a couple minutes.

The product came in quicker than I expected. It definitely works however, it will not work on my breaker panel. So I have to return it otherwise it’s all right.

Product works wells but instruction images dangerously wrong for the one that looks like a vertical line with a single tab to the right.The images on Amazon for that particular one, and the instructions that come with it, would have you install it such that you prevent both main and generator breakers from being off at the same time. And would allow them both on at the same time. That’s completely backwards and exactly what the interlock needs to prevent. Sigh. If you ignore that and install it correctly to prevent both breakers from being ON at the same time, you’re golden. But seriously … if you’re selling a safety product don’t get the instructions completely unsafe. Boo.
