The Natupal generator interlock kit allow safe backfeeding of a home through a portable generator during power outages. It eliminates unsafe generator backfeeding situations that could potentially electrocute electric power company workers or destroy the generator.
Our devices will allow only one main circuit breaker to be in the ON (I) position at any time. The bracket slides between the handle of the utility main circuit breaker and the handle of the generator supply main circuit breaker.

The instructions are wrong. This is the proper way to install this. It meets safety code. I'm a master electrician. This is a must if you put a 30 amp or higher double pole breaker in your load center to run a generator You must turn the power company line breaker off to stop back, feeding The transmission lines. But this prevent that from happening and it will pass any city inspection.

This is a great solution so you don’t have to worry about ever back-feeding your generator onto the grid, and it is actually a code requirement if you have a generator hook up to your panel. You just have to drill two holes and screw it on

First: This product is grossly over-priced; The device consists of two pieces of aluminum, and two screws and nuts, two short plastic tie wraps, and four printed decals. The packing list and included installation incorrectly describe the contents as including three shoulder screws and three hex nuts. In fact, there are only two shoulder screws and two Non-hex nuts. Further, the left figure on the instructions incorrectly shows the Generator breakers as being prevented from being turned on, while in fact the locking plate as depicted does NOT prevent the generator breaker from being moved to the On position. Finally, the figure on the right appears to show that the generator breaker cannot be switched Off until the sliding plate is moved up after the Main breaker is switched On. Both figures are the opposite of what is intended. In fact, if the plate was mounted on the opposite side of the panel (on the right...), with the tab on the sliding plate facing the breakers, it would work as required. That is, with the sliding plate down, the Main breaker can be On, and the generator breaker, blocked by the tab on the sliding plate, cannot be moved to the On position. By turning Off the main breaker, and lifting the sliding plate, the generator can be moved to On and the Main breaker is prevented from being moved to the On position. Overall , original instructions are dangerous and badly done.
