Most folks I know do not use something as simple and easy as this generator interlock. Fool proof way to get your main panel or sub panel tied into a generator with no fears of accidentally back feeding the power to the utility. Our power goes out infrequently but when it does, my wife can easily get the generator connected and the important stuff back up and going. You need to know what interlock to purchase, they are very specific in how they work.

This is exactly what I was looking for. The instructions were simple. It worked great on my weekend project to get my whole house setup for hurricane season. I paired it along with a 25' generator cable with a Westinghouse 9500DF generator.

Barely, The top plate has a wiggle room of a couple of mm which makes it a little too loose for comfort. It does work, in that , you should not be able to switch both the main and the generator breaker on at the same time.
